Bishop Posted September 13, 2013 Report Posted September 13, 2013 Does anyone know if you can scan a hand drawn line drawing into the computer and use a program to edit all the line so they are the same. Some thing that would make all the lines, whether they are big and dark or thin and light, and make them all the same. I'm scanning all my drawings into the computer for storage and some of them are not coming out real good. Thanks for the speedy reply God Bless Homer & Carol Quote

multitom Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Homer, not a expert in this area and like Kevin said Travis will be able to give you a solution. What i have done a few times drew a image by hand scanned it and the to darken the lines took the same image in GIMP and darken the lines or added more lines(details) as I wanted . I hope this helps, I am sure you shall get more detailed response from the experts Quote
Phantom Scroller Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 Have a look at Xara xtreme I use that at work does almost everything but not sure about evening lines already done, you'll have to read up on it. At home I do my work in Photoshop turn to jpeg then import into Inkscape to even out and smooth the lines. Works for me. Roly amazingkevin and Huntter2022 2 Quote
amazingkevin Posted September 14, 2013 Report Posted September 14, 2013 just downloaded the free version ,thanks roly Quote
Travis Posted September 15, 2013 Report Posted September 15, 2013 You can import it into GIMP and increase the contrast. That will make the lines easier to see. It won't smooth out the line widths though. For something like that, you'll have to redraw it in something like Inkscape. That's a fairly advanced technique which I sometimes struggle with, but it certainly is possible. woodworker13403A 1 Quote

sullyscroller Posted September 17, 2013 Report Posted September 17, 2013 take it to inkscape and do a trace bitmap up on paths. that will smooth out the lines.once the trace is done left clik and hold to move the new copy to the side . then left klick the old one and delete it then save as a png image. sully bobscroll and bobis62 2 Quote
