lilmike Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 My 1st Intarsia all sanded and a finish coat on it. I used Poplar, Maple, and Walnut.. bobscroll 1 Quote
Bishop Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Michael for a first project doing Intarsia you did a really good job on it. Your cuts look real good from the front but you may want to check that your blade is square to the table. That may account for your gaps in the back. Overall though you did a beautiful job on your first attempt, keep up the great work. Thanks God Bless Homer & Carol Quote
Clayton717 Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 for your first ever intarsia, it looks good. nice choice of woods. Quote
spirithorse Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 Nice work! Thanks for sharing! If you don't mind a little suggestion, if I had done that particular project, I probably would have raised the leaves with an 1/8" shim and then raised the rose with a 1/4" shim giving the over-all project 3 levels. Of course, rather than shims, different thicknesses of wood could be used for the same effect. I do not mean that to sound like criticism because your project is fine as you did it. I just like to visualize areas that I would like to add dimension to when I do intarsia patterns. Yours is fine and, again, you did a great job!God Bless! Spirithorse Quote
wombatie Posted October 8, 2013 Report Posted October 8, 2013 For your first attempt it is awesome. Did you enjoy doing it and would you do it again? Sorry for the questions but just interested. Marg Quote
