Good Morning all. Coffee is on for those who want it, juice for us who need the Vitamins to fight off whatever this is attacking us and tea is in the kettle.

At work this morning and worried about my mom. She took a spill late yesterday afternoon/early evening and left her with a huge rug burn on her arm that ripped the skin right off. Gotta call the Dr. this morning and see how soon I can get her in. (I was babysitting my grandson at my daughters house waiting for her to get home when mom called). When I asked what caused her to fall when I got home she had no idea. No dizziness no stumble no nothing. No leg weakness.... And she has a walker she walks with... She said she "just went down". Let us hope that it's one if her new meds and it can be adjusted. No siblings to help and just me (adopted at that) and I have to work. Mind running in all directions trying to come up with solutions.

Thx for the coffee Barb.  I do have juice every morning and very seldom have colds.

I understand about caring for parents.  I am a full time care giver for my 93 yr old mother.  And I do mean full time.  Seems as though I can never get anything accomplished that I want.

Morning all, Thanks for the tea Barb,  Hope doctor can find out what caused your mom to fall and hurt herself.  It is a nasty, cold, wet snowy day.  Looks like the snow is going to melt off but what a mess it leaves.  Still have a ton of leaves to be mulched and the trees have only lost about half of the leaves..................bummer

Have a great day everyone

Sorry to hear about your mother's fall. It could be something simple like her walker catching on a throw rug or something. I hope she gets to the doctor really soon. Although you are her sole caregiver I know you can take care of her, as her needs have to be very important to you and her right now.

Kepi,  you are lucky to have your mom still with you. I know that sometimes life would be a little easier if you did not,  but just remember that once she passes, you would probably be willing to give everything you have just to spend one more day with her.  Funny how that is. I remember when a friend of mine's, wife  was dying and he was exhausted from her constant needs. He was looking forward to some relief but after she died, he wished he could take care of her once more. Her passing was way more difficult than he had imagined it would be.

Ended up having to take mom to the hospital around 4p.m. yesterday. Her hemoglobin was at 7.7. She was given a transfusion, and other problems have been found; fluid is still around the lungs her kidneys are elevated and there is a problem with her bladder. Blood work is showing some issues as well. I doubt she'll be home before next Wednesday. But, at least she's where she needs to be and I'll finally know what's really going on with her. She's been hiding everything from me.
