Clayton717 Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Here is my latest experiment. I watched a video on youtube and decided to try it. It's made with - walnut, ash, and cherry. The ash darkened little more than I anticipated but it still shows the 3D effect. finished with several coats of mineral oil. finished size is 9" x 13" x 1 3/4". Doug, Travis and Fab4 3 Quote
browders Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Great looking piece of art. Almost too nice to use as a cutting board. Quote
LarryEA Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 I'm sorry Clayton but I would not be able to cut anything on that cutting board. Would need a chair behind me so I could sit when I got too dizzy to stand. I want to look at the picture again,,, and see how you cut that. Good, good work Larry Quote
Ron Johnson Posted January 21, 2014 Report Posted January 21, 2014 Hi Clayton Fantastic. Now that is something I have never seen before. Great looking piece of art, well done and finished. Too nice to be cutting on. Quote

Clayton717 Posted January 22, 2014 Author Report Posted January 22, 2014 here is a link to a video- I used thinner wood than he did. I used 3/4" thick stock. maybe I will use thicker next time then the "blocks" wont be as small. sweetsaw and amazingkevin 2 Quote

WolfmoonCT Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 It looks like you have smaller blocks.. I'm guessing your stock thickness was thinner than what he used? I think somewhere in the comments he said his was 1.5" thick stock Quote
Doug Posted January 24, 2014 Report Posted January 24, 2014 That is a wall hanging or table top - not a cutting board. I had seen the video - you did a great job. Quote
