Covered Bridge

Another Judy Gale Roberts design.  I made this one last spring, and the wife never liked it as it had no depth, so with all I have learned, I decided to try it again.  Used Walnut, Poplar, Cherry, Paduck, Aspen, and Birch.  Compare the two versions and let me know what you think.

The one with the darker wood---- computer right; has more depth. It takes your eye through the bridge and down the road.

 

Either is much better than I could do!

I love the detail you put in the first one with the leaves on the trees. The second one you did a lot more shaping on and the woods you used really stand out better. You did really good work on both projects. Keep it up I will look forward to seeing much more of your work.

Your wife was right and you took care of her objection.  both of your items are done well. the cutting, glueing and assembly are both excellent. Intarsia is about makingit come alive..You got it this time. I bet you are glad for the nagging. oops ;                .I mean the critizism because you proved to yourself that you could actually improve on an otherwise good job
