wombatie Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Sully I hope you don't mind me asking, but why are they only taking part of the kidney and not all of it? Either way I hope all goes well with the surgery. We will be thinking of you. Marg Quote
sullyscroller Posted April 19, 2014 Author Report Posted April 19, 2014 Marg , doing a partial is the preferred way. in my case i'm considered high risk for cancer returning so if i need chemo in the future i'll need all the kidneys i can to clean out after the treatments.Thankfully i should not need chemo or radiation this time. sully Quote
Rob Roy Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Hello Ron, I sincerely hope all goes well and you are rid of that nasty cancer and our thoughts and prayers are with you, your wife and your medical team. Everything crossable is crossed for you. Take care and do as you're told. God bless. Rob Roy. Quote
wombatie Posted April 19, 2014 Report Posted April 19, 2014 Thanks Sully. The only reason I asked is because my daughter father in law has just had a kidney removed for the same reason. But the specialist thought that by taking all of the kidney meant there was less chance of the cancer coming back. Different specists different ideas. All the very best my friend. Marg Quote

Marg Marg mine is still just stage T1 and they say the cure rate is 97% for this procedure. My esophageal cancer from 4 years ago only had a 15% cure rate so i'm not even concerned about this time just the down time from shows. Either way the Lord has control and i'm along for the ride.
