My latest inlay on an eleven by eight inch cedar box.  I made this to order for a Masonic Lodge.  Three boxes to be given to 2013 officers in their lodge.  Maple and Oak inlaid into Cedar.  The idea to put the 2013 on the front of the box came from the buyer.  One thing about doing custom orders is that I get new ideas form it.  The buyer choose the image on the lid and the idea of putting the date on the front.  I think I will use the idea of putting the year on the front of the box and put the local school/college logo on the lid.  I think it would make a good graduation gift.post-2247-0-64269300-1399638734_thumb.jpg

Jim,

They would make a wonderful gift for anyone for any reason.  I love your boxes.  I want you to know that It attempted one of your boxes, as I said I would. I was rather successful with the box 45's, which I have to say scared me a little, OK a lot, but as I was about to make the lid and bottom, I found that my wood is not  wide enough for your dimensions. I will need to drop the size some, for the wood that I have available . It still is a nice looking box. Because I did not have the right dimensions, I did not bother with the inlay. When I get a chance to tackle  my next box, I will send you a photo of it. I prefer not to post things on The Village that others already have on done so.
