Fish Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 This came out like the pattern, a few accidents, it was some fine cuts in a few places. That's where glue comes in. It didn't look right at first, I was expecting more but maybe that is just the frame. What do you think, different frame? amazingkevin, keefie and lawson56 3 Quote
DonR Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Nice job! I like the frame, the pattern and the overall result. Don R Fish 1 Quote
LarryEA Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Ships in a stormy sea, looked like it would be a bit dicey. You did a great job. So good that I did not even notice the framing. I'll have to look again. Good job, on that. Fish 1 Quote
DWSUDEKUM Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Very nicely done. I do not think I want to be on that boat however. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW Fish 1 Quote
wombatie Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Love the cutting and I love the frame, maybe you are looking too hard. Marg Fish 1 Quote
lawson56 Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 There are times we judge our work to harshly. To me you did a Top Notch job, Frame included. Fish 1 Quote
amazingkevin Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 GREAT LOOKING CUTTING! Great frame,BUT The wood chosen might have been better as the grain looks like not too fitting for a sea harsh weather scene. But it i what it is.You jut never know till it's done.No worry's though.Looks super and very detailed. keefie Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 I like the cutting a lot, I like the frame too, but I think a lighter colour for the frame might work a little better (just my opinion though) Fish 1 Quote
frankorona Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Excelente trabajo, el marco se ve muy bien, gracias por compartir. Fish 1 Quote
Kepy Posted May 27, 2014 Report Posted May 27, 2014 Great work. I think the frame somewhat overpowers the cutting. It would probably show up better with a simpler frame. Fish 1 Quote
Fish Posted May 27, 2014 Author Report Posted May 27, 2014 Thanks for the input, I think I'll try a more simple frame.. Quote
Ron Johnson Posted May 29, 2014 Report Posted May 29, 2014 Excellent cutting of a fine pattern. I find the old ship patterns and photos very interesting. As for the frame you've chosen, you know it's the right one when you don't have to give it a second thought. Quote
Birchbark Posted May 30, 2014 Report Posted May 30, 2014 I like this a lot, if i would have made the pattern i would have put some storm clouds in at the top to help fill in the large "blank" area and better balance it all. The frame is very powerful as many others have already said. Very nice detailed cutting. You did a great job on this pattern. Russell Quote
