  5. A grade school teacher in Heppner, Oregon where we lived for 15 years before we moved to Arizona, told us last month that she retired at the end of last year. She is a good friend and continues to give of herself to so many people. She is always the one that volunteers for just about everything that is in need of another body. Her statement to me was, "Now I will have more time for the little ones at church to help them learn about God. My wife and I both love her a lot and she has spent a lot of time at our house, when we lived there, having diner with us or using our outdoor fire pit to conduct a fun time for others and to sing songs and roast products. Always a good time and everyone was always welcome to come and enjoy. I know this plaque does not fit her ways much and is pretty masculine. but I think she will love it and cherish the fact that we cared enough to make this memorial of HER retirement special by giving her this little Item This is a Sue Mey design, cut with BB ply and finished with semi gloss spray. Click on the 'Node Editor' and then click on your image. It will show all the 'nodes' that make up your image. Right click and drag across the lines you wish to remove. Drag across the 'top line' and then press 'delete' and repeat with the other lines.

    Pattern remover tool

I read through all the posts on this thread and I'm not seeing anything negative. It was a post about a pattern removal tool, and some followups on how others remove patterns. I think it was a nice start to a discussion. I agree with Ray. Sometimes when things are written in a forum, there isn't any body language or tonal inflection to add context. So, there are times when an post is misconstrued. So, I think it's is good to keep in mind when we read or write a response; how are we interpreting it, or how can what we're writing be interpreted. With that said, I think SSV is a pretty friendly group, especially compared to other groups. We have our moments where things get derailed a bit. But I feel like we're all here to help and be encouraging of others.

  15. To make a temporary wall, you need a frame for each 4x8 sheet, or at least one running frame with vertical studs to secure the 4x8 insulation sheet to. the problem I have with this, is that it is not really temporary the way I think of temporary, lot of construction to both put it up and take it down, and while have have a lot of space - that temporary wall has to be stored somewhere. The wall needs to be secured to the floor and the ceiling or rafters too. We used to sell at a trade fair where the booth was inside old turkey barns, no heat no A/C, a tarp hanging (not even to the top of the rafters) held the heat in to our space just fine from a 5# propane heater bottle. I would go with a tarp, what the hell if it does not work you have a tarp and you can always nail up some 2x4s

  16. I'll admit I am in this hobby only a couple of years, but I have never seen an Ex with a painted table, assuming you are talking about the flat surface you put the wood that is being cut - I would use steel wool or a random orbit sander with 400 grit or higher Can you post a pic?

  19. I would consider 2" x 48" x 96" Rigid styrofoam insulation. Would require minimal framing easily removable and can be repurposed for what it is intended for. At $21 or so per sheet is cost effective, light, cuts easily and may reflect light better than some options.

  20. I have almost the same situation, having a house built with 24 by 29 garage. I am seriously thinking of heavy plastic for a divider which would be more for AC as it has been very hot this year in NC. 2 hours in the garage and soaked in sweat. Bob

    Pattern remover tool

A friend told about a tool called Scotty Peeler. Librarians use them to remove stickers in books. Just google it and you will find a lot of places to get them. I use a Zyron machine to put my patterns on and this tool peels the pattern off so easy . Bob

    Should I, can I?

I posted this on the topic page that Don put up but I guess it won't show up here. So, this is what I wrote: Well, I have spent the afternoon trying make CorelDraw do what Steve does. NO CAN DO! I installed the trial version, couldn't make the contour tool work. I chatted with their support person who swore that the trial version wasn't crippled. But, as far as I can see it is. So, next I tried to figure out Inkscape/Dynamic Offset/XML Editor. I don't have a clue how to use any of that. So, I guess I will have to wait for a tutorial that I can follow. DANG!!

I feel the same sometimes but most of the time it is just good conversation. Keep in mind that we are not all sitting around a pot bellied stove chatting. The written word is very different than the spoken word. Granted, there are a couple of folks here who come off as contentious and like to promote their way of thinking but generally I find that this is the friendliest forum site that I have ever been a part of. No smartasses that I have found. Try to see through what you are reading. Many points of view on a subject doesn't mean we are arguing. Debating? Maybe. I have been a member for about 4 years. Starting out as a total novice. I asked a lot of questions and got a ton of good useable advice. Stick around and give us a chance. Just figure out who seems to bother you and then put them on "ignore". I am glad you brought the subject up so it could be discussed.
