Yah, I'm selling those for Dale. I think they're neat and a lot of folks seem to like them. It looks like that is an old ad. I need to change that. But here's what I'll do, instead. You can take 20% off whatever you put in the cart. That includes all of Dale's Puzzles and any of my other designs. Use the coupon code: SSV20 at checkout to save 20%. The coupon expires on January 31st, 2017. Thanks for pointing that out. Enjoy the patterns!

Fav4 had a question on how to design a word art pattern where half the word is cut out and the other half is not. He asked me about it last week and I told him I'd make a quick video on how to design it, but the Christmas craziness delayed the video. I'm bet he already figured out how to do it. But if anybody else is interested, here's the video I promised....a week late.

It's very subtle. On a PC, you have to hold down the Ctrl+F5 button to do a full reload. Otherwise, the images stay in your browser cache. I thought Ctrl+Reload would do it, but I guess not. I'm not sure how to do it on a mac. Maybe the command button?
-
Ha! I almost forgot about the big guy. OUr little Santa friend is back and visiting SSV. Do a force-reload by holding down the Ctrl button and clicking the reload button in your browser. That should bring the guy out of hiding.

Even if you have or don't want the Vases book, enter anyway. You can always donate the book to a fellow scroller if you win. It should be a lot of fun seeing what folks come up with.

This looks like a lot of fun! Thank you Dan for putting this together. I look forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

This might help. Around 1:40 will show you how to lighten an image.

I'm proud to announce that SSV's Ornaments For Charity - 2016 eBook is now available! This year, we got 8 designers to design 40 additional patterns. The eBook is now 62 pages with 205 Holiday ornament patterns! You can download the eBook for free and check it out. If you decide to keep the eBook, we ask you to donate to your favorite charity (we're on the honor system here). Remember, this isn't about "buying" an ebook of patterns, it's about giving to a worthy cause. So dig deep when donating to your favorite charity. Please spread the word about this wonderful eBook of patterns. Post to your favorite social media, other clubs and organizations. The more people who know about it, the more money we're able to raise for worthy causes. You can find the ebook here. There will be a tab on the navigation menu through Christmas. After Christmas, it will be moved under the More tab in the navigation window. Special thanks to the following for donating patterns to this year's eBook: Birchbark CaseyJ debinoz DonR Fab4 Jesse meflick Travis I hope everybody has a wonderful Holiday Season surrounded by those you love.

You can design it the size you want it, then break it up into multiple sheets, then tape them together. Here's a tutorial on printing oversized patterns: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/articles.html/_/pattern-making/inkscape/printing-oversized-patterns-r21

Howdy all. Over the long Thanksgiving weekend, I plan on updating the software on SSV. I try to only do it when I have time to troubleshoot if things go sideways. I just wanted to let everybody know that I'll be working on the site. So if it becomes unavailable, you'll know why. If SSV is down, you can check our Facebook page for updates (https://www.facebook.com/scrollsawvillage/). That will be the place to find the latest news. Wish me luck!
-
On a related note, please don't post the patterns on SSV because of copyright reasons. But I'd love to see some cuttings.

Here's a fun site. They show you how to cut paper snow flakes with Star Wars characters. But, it would be easy enough for a scroller to use the pattern and cut some out of BB ply. Here's a link to the site: http://www.anthonyherreradesigns.com/starwarssnowflakes

Are you trying to make the poll show it shows who voted for what? If so, right next to the Poll Title, there's a checkbox that says Make Public. That will show who voted. Unfortunately, you can't edit that part of the poll once it's been published.
-
Looks like Jim set up a poll here: http://www.scrollsawvillage.com/topic/21555-topbottom-feed/?hl=%2Bbottom+%2Bfeed

If you go into your gallery, and choose a picture. In the lower left corner of the image panel, you should have an Image Moderation button. Click that and choose Edit Image. That should get you to the place where you can edit Title, Descriptions, Tags, and Pattern Designer. Let me know if you don't have it.

We're off to a great start! I'd love to get 10 designers this year. If we hit that goal, we'd have 50 additional ornaments to add to this year's Ornaments For Charity ebook! That would be awesome. So far we got: Travis DonR debinoz Fab4 (submitted) Who else is in?- 26 replies

We'll need 5 individual ornament patterns and you can email/PM them to me. When I assemble the eBook, I'll group them together so the book flows correctly. Does that answer your question? Or did I misunderstand?- 26 replies

Halloween is over and Christmas is right around the corner. Scrollers are starting to think about gifts and patterns to cut for loved ones. But since the Holiday season is also about helping others in need, we're continuing our tradition here at Scroll Saw Village as a way to give back. This will be our 7th year of publishing an e-Book full of Christmas ornaments. This popular e-Book was featured in the Holiday 2014 issue of Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts magazine. Our ornaments designs are exclusive to this eBook and designed by SSV members. Anyone are can download the ebook in exchange for a donation to their favorite charity. Our hope is that we'd be able to raise some money for very worthy causes, and provide some cool patterns at the same time. But we need your help! So I'll need some volunteers to design some ornaments. Each designer will provide 5 patterns (no more, no less) I ask that the designs are not made available anywhere else (this gives value to the e-book) They have to be designed specifically by you (no posting other people's patterns) Designs must be emailed (or PM) to Travis by Wednesday, November 23rd (info below) A few things to keep in mind: Religious and secular designs are accepted. Other religions/traditions also celebrate this time of year, so lets not forget them. Keep detail and size appropriate for an ornament. Don't submit copyrighted or licensed patterns. The due date will sneak up on you quicker than you think. Get them to me ASAP. What do you get in exchange? Credit for your design. The warm fuzzy feeling that you're helping others in need. Submitting your ornaments: Email the ornaments directly to Travis (travis [at] scrollsawvillage.com) or PM me. Formats accepted are JPG, PNG. Please keep the pattern in black & White only (no gray) . That way I can convert them easier when putting together the ebook. I'll also accept Inkscape files (SVG). This is ideal if you know how to use Inkscape. That way there is no conversion. If you haven't seen it yet, here's our article in Scroll Saw Woodworking & Crafts from last year: I'm designing. Are you? So who's in? .
