  1. Tuesday @ 9pm ET (8pm CT, 7pm MT, 6pm PT)
  2. No Way! That's amazing! I've never known anybody to win more than a few bucks off those. Congrats! It'll be fun to decide how you're going to spend it. A vacation on a remote tropical beach sounds in order.
  3. Poll is closed. And the winner is: Teusday @ 9pm ET (8 pm CT, 7pm MT, 6pm PT) See you there or be [_]
  4. Grampa's going to set up a poll to find out what time is best for our UK friends. Keep an eye out for that. I'll be closing this poll on Friday and will put the weekly chat on the calendar. Right now 9pm ET on Teus is winning. Get your vot in if you haven't already.
  5. Everybody has their votes in? I'll keep the poll open for a couple more days and then we'll pick a chat time that works for most everyone.
  6. Only I have access to that.
  7. Keep the pix coming. I love seeing a new workshop coming together.
  8. 4x24" according to Amazon.
  9. SSV had a weekly chat every Thursday at 7pm Mountain time. I understand that Free4All also had a weekly chat. So I thought I'd throw up a poll to see what time works best for everybody. I'd love to be able to fill the chat room with fellow scrollers talking shop. So please cast your vote. You can vote for multiple days, but only one time. Hopefully we can zero in on the best time for everybody. For our UK friends, we used to have a weekly chat on Teusdays that was more favorable to your time zone. If anybody is interested in organizing a UK chat, please let me know and I can put it on the calender. Cast your vote at the top of this thread.
  10. I have the RIDGID Oscillating Edge/Belt Spindle Sander. It does both spindle and belt sander, both oscillate. I love the thing. I did a bunch of research on it and it had some really good reviews. Might be worth looking into.
  11. Made an offer on a house. We'll see if they accept.

  12. I'm sorry to hear that. I wasn't a member, but I know it was a popular site. It's nice to have an alternative to the mega sites to hang out on. Their contribution to the scrolling community will be missed. Good luck with your ventures, Rick and Gina. We appreciate all you have done.
  13. I'm not sure of the current status. I think it might be on hold right now. A great place to find the current status is on the Etsy forums. They have a lot of discussions about CPSIA. I think for the time being, people are continuing as they always have, but with the idea they might be out of business soon. I know Etsy toymakers are conscious about using natural materials and disclose a lot of info in their description. But I think this more of an Etsy culture thing, rather than regulations.
  14. Great idea for a cheap item at a craft show. Plus, they're really cool looking. Those will fly off the shelves.
  15. Still around....just trying to get my life back to normal after the big move. Still around, just behind the scenes. :)

  16. Great display. You have a lot of great work. I agree with Scrappy Scroller on having cheap/small items. I think those would do well alongside your flashy items. RangerJay has a lot of great advice too. Especially the price tags. I'd make the customer pick up the item to look for the price instead of making it immediately visible The more they interact with your product, the better chance you have to sell them. Plus, when you see someone holding an item, it immediately opens them up for some conversation "That is made from Zebrawood." or "that portrait has over 200 interior cuts." etc. Get them talking (no hard sells), and they're more likely to purchase. If nothing else, they'll appreciate the art rather than scoff at the price tag.
  17. Mother's Day is coming up. Anybody working on a project for that special lady in your life?
  18. Here's a fun little poll. How many projects do you typically have going at one time? Cast your vote, then leave a reply to what projects you have going currently.
  19. I was going into Tosche Station to pick up some power converters! /sigh

  20. Holy Cow! Really!? Do you know how many emails I sent them trying to get off their list? I'm glad that you were able to get results. Thank you so much. I'm sure there are a lot of folks here who also run Avast and really appreciate it! You rock!
  21. The house is officially on the market. Big bucks, no whammies!

  22. One of my favorite things to ask people is how they got started in a particular hobby. Their stories are really interesting and you can learn a lot about them. So h'bout it? How did you get started in scrolling? We're not looking for a short 1 sentence reply. Really tell us your story. How did you discover scrolling? Why did you decide you wanted to give this a try? What was your first project? How did it go?
  23. This moving thing is going to be the death of me. Uggg.

I was wondering when you were going to do this ,don't forget to back up back up back up.how many patterns did we lose last time things were moved around back around 2006,8 or 9

SSV wasn't founded until January 1, 2009. Our move to the new software was last October. We didn't lose any patterns during that move. Their either in the Old Pattern Library or have been moved to the new Gallery.

huuh ,i guess i'm going to chew on my socks again, darn,

  24. I've only used CA glue on woodturnings or fixing plastic Chinese toys. I never used it for joining boards. I have a feeling that you might be correct, the glue is brittle. I've seen some folks use a combination of CA glue and wood glue. They glue up the joint like normal, but use CA glue to tack it in place while the woodglue cures. Spread wood glue, then a dab of CA glue on one side, accelerator spray on the other piece, then press together? You'd have to do it right the first time, because once that accelerator and CA glue meet, it's a done deal. Might be worth experimenting with.
  25. Sorry, but I had to remove the pattern. Harley (along with any sports team, Disney, or any other copyrighted materials) are very protective of their logos. While it's fine to make an item for yourself, SSV cannot distribute patterns for these groups. You can link to the pattern you modeled your design off of, though. You did an amazing job on it, BTW.
