  1. Great idea!
  2. Those turned out great. I really like the pumpkins. I don't think I'd add anything. I like them the way they are.
  3. I think there's two types of felt you can get at the craft store. One is fairly stiff and dense, whereas the other one is loose and floppy.
  4. You guys know how to make a guy blush.
  5. I don't right now. I can put that on my "To Do" list, but it might be awhile before I get to it. This is our busy time of year at work. If someone wants to write a step by step using my video as a guide, I won't complain.
  6. This is directed to more folks who are pushing a product or service. The scour the forums in an effort to find posts where they can link to their wares. This is in order to build backlinks to raise their Google rankings. It contributes nothing to the discussions and is pretty annoying. It's nothing more than spam. With that said, if you have a scroll saw related product, or a product our community can benefit from, you can post an "Advertisement" in the Hot Deals & Announcements forum. Be sure to read the forum rules there before doing so. You can also add a simple link to your website or product in your signature which shows up on all your posts. General discussion about a product or service is allowed if not encouraged. As long as it fits in the context of the discussion. It really comes down to this. We all know what spam looks like, and we don't want it here. I'm also pretty good at spotting the "sneaky" ways of spamming a website too. If anybody wants to advertise on SSV, contact me. We have banners at the top of the site to advertise scroll saw related websites. These banners help support SSV so we can keep the lights on. Don't be afraid to post, though. Yes we have rules, but they're pretty common sense rules. We're all pretty laid back here. We just like to have fun and talk shop.
  7. On the upper right corner of the screen, you'll see your name. Click it and it will open a menu. Click My Profile. Then hover over your Avatar and it will pop up a "Change" button. In the lower right corner of your post, you'll see an Edit link in grey. that will let you edit your post. You can't delete your post, though. In the lower right corner of the forum, you'll see a link to the User Guidelines. Hope this helps!
  8. I usually wait until it starts smoking.
  9. GIMP and Inkscape are very different programs with different functions. I generally use GIMP for portrait style patterns. I use Inkscape for everything else.
  10. I moved the Chat tab a little further to the left. I didn't realize it was getting hidden under the "More" tab (it does it automatically, based on your screen resolution). It should be easier to see, now. Chat schedule is posted on the right sidebar under "Calender". I think it puts a notice 2-3 days before the actual date. Someone usually posts in the Shout Box that it is open too.
  11. Much too soon. I'm really sorry to hear that. My thoughts and prayers go out to his friends and family. :(
  12. Man, I'm really behind on pattern sorting.

    1. Phantom Scroller

  13. Howdy all. In an effort to keep things tidy and easy to find, I decided to move all the "Morning Coffee" conversations over to the Coffee House forum. That way scroll tips, advice, help, etc are easier to find in the General Scroll Saw forum. Besides, what better place to find morning coffee than the Coffee House?
  14. I've been scrolling since 2008. So I guess that would make 5 years for me.
  15. I'm curious about how long folks have been scrolling. I thought it would be fun to see who our most senior (or is that experienced?) scroller here. So, h'bout it? How long have you been scrolling? I'm not talking about how long you've had a scroll saw sitting in the corner gathering dust. But rather actual scrolling where you're using your scroll saw as a primary tool for making stuff.
  16. Looks like a lot of great work! Too bad the sales weren't better.
  17. That's really cool. IMO, scrolling is a great (and safe) way to introduce kids to woodworking. BTW, I'm jealous of your Excalibur...I REALLY want that anniversary edition. I think the colors look awesome with the gold trim. Much better than that ugly green. I bet it cuts like a dream, too. Too bad I'm too broke.
  18. I got you straighted out. Something got switched on your account. You should be good to go now. Let me know if you run into any problems.
  19. I just checked into your account. Something got switched on your account. It should be fixed now. Sorry 'bout that. Anybody else have any issue, be sure to shoot me a PM.
  20. Poll is closed. Wednesday at 20.00hrs is our UK Chat! I'm putting it on the calender right now. Thanks everybody.
  21. Is that 8pm GMT? I'll put it on the calender.
  22. 7 votes so far. Get your vote in to find out the best time for our UK members and neighbors. We had a UK chat a couple years ago and it was a lot of fun. I'm hoping we can get a nice core of folks on the other side of the pond to have a regular chat night. I think we'll close the poll next Monday or Tuesday, so cast your vote now!
  23. Here's a fun game we can play. The rules are easy: Post your favorite scroll saw tip. Click "Like" on your favorite 3 tips in this thread. I bet we can put together an amazing list of clever and useful tips. Ready? Set? Go!
  24. Thanks for all the help, guys! I really appreciate it. A little history for our new members. Last October, we upgraded our software. The software package ran about $400, if I remember right. Several of SSV members pitched in to offset the costs for our community upgrade. I'm really happy with the results. I think it's a super friendly atmosphere, with a ton of cool features. Plus we're able to offer a ton of info in an easy to find manner. The best part about it, the software runs much smoother, quicker, and easier to update. I'm thrilled with how the community has grown and evolved since our opening in 2009. I'm happy to see old friends here, and welcome new friends to our friendly little village. Happy Scrolling, everybody! And thanks for the support.
  25. Their are sum werds that i never speel corectly, no mater how hard i tri. teusday being one of them.
