  1. Thanks everyone. I won't say it was a barrel of laughs to do because I was frightened that I would mess up, but I must admit I like the feeling when I was putting it together. It's just a case of saying OK lets do it and doing it. The more you put it off the scarier it becomes. GIVE IT A GO WHAT HAVE YOU GOT TO LOSE. Marg
  2. They will have a whale of a time saving their money in that money bank DW, looks great. Marg
  3. Well here it is my very first Intarsia project. Can't say it was easy because I only had my Dremil to do the shaping with but alll in all I am quite pleased with it. There is a slight gap between the bottom fin and the bottom of the beak and the body, it looks worse on the photo than it actually is. I had to use thinner wood than Dick suggested because I didn't have enough of that size. I have used two different woods but they are both Blackhearted Sassafras but on the photo the colors look the same. Would I do another.....yes I think I would, if it was up to my husband I would be doing a motor bike the same as Lee did but I told him that is way out of my league maybe in 20 years time I'll be up for that. Like I said before this is my year for doing new things on the scroll saw, so between doing orders I will be doing other things so stay tuned you never know whats coming next. Dick I hope I made you proud, if not I'm sorry Marg PS. I didn't want to put this into Intarsia/Segmentation because those guys do it so much better.
  4. Welcome to the Village Ricardo. I'm Marg from Australia. Glad to have you here. If you have any questions just ask and someone will help you. Marg
  5. I think the part that makes the best pattern maker is the knowledge of how it should look when cut, if you have that you have no problems. By the looks of these two you have the knowledge, all you need is practice. They both look great and she will love them and you for your generous gift. Marg
  6. Well done on both the pattern and the cut. Marg
  7. As soon as people see your Hartpury sign lot of people will want their towns done. All look terrific Roly. Marg
  8. All of us just want to get out there and scroll and we don't care what we cut most of the time so why not make a wheel or two, the wagon will come along later I guess. Marg

  18. Overall a great effort on the pattern. There is just something not quite right with the eyes but I'm not too sure what the problem is, but I think the right eye is better than the left. You did a great job of the cutting too. Marg

  22. I agree with Ike that one rose is better than having two, less is more. Plus I agree with SpiritHorse, a simple easel stand should work well. Looks great Kevin. Marg
