  1. I was lucky my husband bought me an orbital sander. When we went to get it the nice little man asked if he could help us, so I told him what I wanted and he offered me one to look at and said that it came 'In a lovely little case'. Realising that I was being patronized I held my breath and continued looking. We did get the one in the lovely little case and because I had already started using the sander my husband wrapped the case and put it under the tree. We all got a hugh laugh from that on Christmas morning. Marg
  2. I have no problem either. Our A4 size paper is 8.5" x 11.7". Plus if I print 'fit to page' if I need to. Marg
  3. Congratulation Dale. Don't work too hard. LOL Marg
  4. Greasemonkeyredneck I am glad that you are ok. Yes we all have to be safety conscious especially if there are children about as well. We all tend to put off till tomorrow, don't we? Marg
  5. Two or three years ago I came up with the idea of putting a sticker or tag on all the work that I do, to let people know who worked hard and made the pattern. The sticker looks something like this. Pattern of; Pattern by; Cut by; Date; E-mail address. We are tend to forget sometimes how much work goes into making a pattern, the cutting is usually the easy part. So this is my way of saying 'Thank You' to all the pattern makers out there, without you what would we have to cut? THANK YOU Marg
  6. Boys and their toys. LOL So how many times have you dipped into your lathe fund now???? Have fun. Marg
  7. I finally started my album, theres only 4 photos in there at the moment but I hope you like them. I will put some more in when I get chance. Marg
  8. I really feel like a dumb blonde! My husband came home and pushed the plug on the side and away it went. Did I feel like an idiot?????? The plug had worked its way loose. So those of you with a DeWalt and it stops working, check the plug on the side first...LOL LOL By the way thanks guys for the suggestions they are very much appreciated. Marg
  9. My DeWalt as just stopped working. Not sure what happened it just died. I checked the power point and thats fine. Hopefully my husband can fix it when he gets home from work. I feel so lost without it.. I see more of my scroll saw than I do my husband. Will let you know on the outcome. Marg
  10. I would think about 3mil would be a good thinkness for earrings because you would not want then too thick. But I'm not sure what wood you would use. Marg
  11. On the wall in front of me is a board with lots of small holes in (sorry forgotten what its called) and you clip in some small hooks. Then I leave the blades in the bags and hook them on the different hooks working in size order and type of blade order. Know exactly where to lay my hand in a jiff. Plus if I am using a particular blade and I know I an going to need more than one I leave them on the bench next to me and when I'm finished I just hang them back up. Marg
  12. Thanks Travis my wombat friend and I very much appreciate your help. Marg
  13. Thanks Travis, Wombat 2 would be great (the paler one). Don't know what the problem is my end unless its just me. Thanks again. Marg
  14. Thanks Merlin I tried that and it didn't work. I even tried it twice to make sure I did it right. Oh poor faceless me. LOL LOL Marg
  15. The Mill was cut from 3mil. marine ply and I used a 2/0 crown tooth blade. That was the 2nd time that I had done the Mill and both times I used that type of blade. I have practised with a spiral blade but I really hate the fuzzies they leave, it would take me longer to sand than it would to cut. But as they say each to his own. Marg
  16. I have decided to do name ornaments for the young ones and named keyrings for the older ones as stocking fillers. Thanks Steve Goode your a life saver LOL LOL Marg By the way Christine don't worry about circles I have trouble with straight lines, circles are a breeze. LOL
  17. Sorry it's taken me awhile to get back but i've been in bed for a week with the flu. Still a bit sluggish but getting back to normal slowly. Anyway here are the photos I promised you.
  18. Thanks Travis. I'm sorry its taken so long to get back to you but I caught a really bad dose of the flu and was in bed for a week. Still a bit sluggish but thankfully on the mend. Now my next problem 'How do I get my little Wombat from your reply to my profile, and add it to the avatar section?' Sorry but when it comes to computers they still do not make them simplar enough for me. By the way I like the paler one myself so I will go with that one thanks. Sorry to be a bit of a pain. Marg
  19. Hi Travis. Can you adjust my little Aussie Wombat friend that I would like as my avatar please. Much appreciated. Marg
  20. The only thing on my saw right now is a dust cover and it will probably be there for a while longer. Tooooooo cold to go out into the garage. Marg
  21. I forgot to say that I'm in Australia, so its winter here now. My 6 months in the garage have been great and its even better to say that none of the work was for me. They have been orders from friends and friends of friends who found out that I had retired. My last order was for Jeff Zaffino's Malbry Mill it took me 22 and a half hour from preparing the wood to framing it, I made a couple at the same time just in case. Time well spent. And not a spiral blade in site. Once I can work out what photo is what I will start an album. Tanks for the welcome back, now to catch up on some reading. LOL Marg
  22. Hi everyone. I am finally back. At the beginning of the year I made a resolution to scroll more and print less. Well I certainly did that. I have spent the last 6 months working hard in my garage and have hardly been on the computer. Now that the winter is here I can get back to the computer and catch up with everyone. A lot has changed on the site while I've been away and it all looks great. Looking forward to checking it all out. Marg
  23. I think the site you are thinking of is Steve Good's Scrollsaw Workshop. I think the address is www.scrollsawworkshop.com Marg
  24. I got into scrolling because my husband brought himself a scrollsaw. I asked him how it worked and that was it. I was never off it and he never got on it. That was about 10 years ago and it was a Delta 16in., which I still have but I also have a Dewalt. I retired from school cleaning at the end of last year so I will be able to spend A LOT more time doing what I love. Marg
  25. My resolution is to scroll more and print less. I know I can scroll more because I retired after 24 and half years of cleaning a primary school but print less! Only time will tell. Marg
