  6. Very nicely done Tony. The possibilities are endless for making bowls. There is an author - Carole Rothman that has a couple of books out with projects in them. 13. Shellac is always good. It is easily filtered and can be thinned quite easily with denatured alcohol. Should it ever dry out just add denatured alcohol and shake it for a bit and it will reconstitute. If you go to Wood Crafter or any other place that is wood working friendly you can purchase bags of shellac chips and this would let you make your own shellac. Most folks like the convenience of buying it in the cans, so do I however I hate throwing out money. Out of those 15 cans I got another cans worth of shellac to use. Unfortunately there are no marbles in these cans. DW
  14. Some time back I posted about collecting up the unused potion of shellac out of those spray cans and generally folks thought it was too much work. Well I collected this many cans - 15 cans. Now all these cans are basically empty they would no longer spray. So I collected them up got an awl a 1 pint mason jar and a funnel. I poked 4 holes into the top of each can, letting the propellant out. I did this to all 15 cans. I then inverted them over the funnel and drained them into the mason jar. These spray cans are 12 oz. and I got 11 ounces out of the 15 cans I drained. Well worth the 10 minutes it took to drain them in my opinion. DW
