    Sorry to hear this about those kids. One of the solutions to the problem of a customer dumping the puzzle out and then not putting it back together and then leaving was to shrink wrap them. I live up in cold country so I put heat shrink plastic on the inside of my windows and come spring I take it down and rather than throw it out I save a good portion of it for shrink wrapping the puzzles. You wrap the puzzle as you wish it to be seen and tape the edges together on the backside. Then using a hair dryer on low pass it over the plastic and it will shrink and make a good protective glove over the puzzle. The customer can pick it up and look at it but you do not have to worry about them not being able to put it back together. Some shows are like that, keep the faith and have fun. DW

    You definitely do not wish to use a rivet gun as it will splinter your project apart. Take your time and make good cuts, glue the joints and let them set up and harden and the total project will be strong enough to last for years. DW

    Here is a thought although it will take some doing to make the press. If you have a significant amount of sawdust and live in an area where you use a furnace to heat your house in the winter you could make starter logs like those Presto Logs sold in the stores. Mix a bit of paraffin wax with the sawdust and compress it into a log shape and it will make a homemade presto log. It will take a little bit of experimentation to get the amount of paraffin wax to add to the saw dust correct. You also could mix it with damp corn starch and make a log that way as well. You could mix it with a little bit of fertilizer and dirt and make a potting soil. You can use it to soak up oil spills, You can "cook" it and make wood oil. There are a lot of uses for it. I know one person that makes methane gas with his sawdust and uses it to heat his shop in the winter. Most of us however bag it up and to the landfill it goes. DW
