  1. I have seen and made other peoples designs for this kind of basket and while I wanted something similar ( in concept at least ) I did not want to copy their work. Cut from 1/2 in pine. The dowels are poplar stained a mahogany. Finished with a satin lacquer. I know ... I know not a whole lot of scrolling. . . . yet. The end cap pieces have enough room for some design work. I have not yet decided what I need to put there. The basket is 10 1/2" long x almost 6" wide. DW
  2. Actually Kevin the broken dream sign might appeal to folks. Great cuttings though. Thanks for sharing these with us. DW
  3. Those look good. Both of them. Wonder if you could use something like Gallery Glass to make an insert or found a gem that fit the hole in the center of the fleur de lis what it would look like. Anyway I like them both, keep up the great work. Thanks for sharing them with us. DW
  4. Personally I see nothing wrong with that piece. It fits the theme of the work quite well I think. Interesting concept and well done Doc. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW
  5. Very nicely done Kevin. Wish I had the ability to keep focused as long as you do on your saw. I saw a little then do something else and rinse and repeat Thanks for sharing these latest with us. DW
  6. Excellent job on the jewelry box. Who ever gets that is really going to appreciate you. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW
  7. Roly great work on both the Signs and the boxes. The combinations are virtually endless for the boxes. When they first were introduced back in 2009 folks were making them large, small and one person actually made one that a penny would have trouble fitting into. Besides being extremely easy to make they do not take a lot of time and you can use up your scrap making them. Where I live they sell pretty well right before Christmas and during College graduation season. You might wish to make a different shape keys, a club, a diamond, a spade, a heart, an initial, the choices are limited only by your skill at cutting. You are doing a great job thanks for sharing these with us. DW

  23. Nicely done Kevin. Thanks for sharing these with us. DW
  24. Roly good job for the first one. One of the things you might try is a spiral blade. I have found at least at first they cut straighter and this can make cutting these easier. I generally use a #9 Ultra reverse now when cutting these. A new sharp blade and taking your time you will have straighter cutting. It takes practice to cut straight in super thick stock. DW
  25. Very nicely done. One thing I would do however is on a paper attached to the back put dates of the pictures... come later when the grandkids see this they will know when the events took place. Thanks for sharing this with us. DW
