I have one of those old four foot Florescent double lights hung just low enough too hit my head on it right over the Scrollsaw , I wrapped a shop towel on the edge to keep from hitting my head on it and that works . It sure make seeing the work better and it works great for this old guy. { Mines not LED } Wish I had a picture , that way you'd probably think I was old school . Anyway haven't been on here in a while , will try too drop in some tho....

  14. Guess you can say I'm a seasoned scroller , but you never know it all and I never claimed too . Been scrolling for over thirty years , I wore out a 16" variable speed Craftsman scroll saw after using it for a good 12 years and just wore out the jaws . I decided to buy a new Dewalt model 788 verses buying new jaws for my old Craftsman scroll saw . Glad I did , I know there's all different prices and brands / models out there . I love my Dewalt and I can tell starting out on the Craftsman brand was a cheap try in case I decided not to pursue the hobby . I can also offer that the scrollsaw blade I use is flying Dutchman blades they were made in Germany - can google to buy them online . I buy my blades in bulk in grosses - there cheaper that way .I Started out by making just the letters of the alphabet , remember to start out with three real important things is too practice practice practice . I make Christmas ornaments , , name plaques and custom plaques since I'm retired now . First two years I was retired I keep the scrollsaw hot , but since then I decided to get a part time job being a commercial delivery driver for O'Reilly's auto parts . But being a scroller is my passion in wood , I could go on and on - but maybe I've offfered a little aid to the new scrollers out there . My dad always wanted to woodwork but told me growing up he couldn't afford it , I did what he wanted too do . Loved my Daddy - bless his heart - thank you and go scroll some wood Trust me you'll find it too be more than just a hobby . MD
  15. Nice work - don't get burnt out .
  16. Lovely work
  17. Great job - detailed paint job is cool.
  18. Nice job - can see this being a big helpful pattern .
  19. Made my first - seven piece Nativity box some 6 months ago and entered it in the Northeast Arkansas Fair in September and it won the big Blue - and shortly afterwards received a order for 8 more . It's a Steve Good Pattern , remember when making this that the cuts need to be as precise as possible - if not will cause you a lot more sanding . It's still take some tweeting on the top lid to make it shut perfect , this project is made from 1/8" BB Plywood and the top and bottom pieces are 1/4" Walnut material and several light coats of high gloss spray lacquer with sanding in between coats . Any comments welcomed ....
  20. Customer special order , I cut it and made the backer board and made a frame for the backer board and my wife made the pattern and did the detailed paint job . I would have though the ladie would have wanted the 49ers on it too but no all she wanted was just S F . Used Baltic Birch Plywood and as you can see the wife hand painted it .I installed a picture frame Saw tooth hanger on the rear top where it can be hung on the wall . Any comments welcomed .....
  21. Thanks I read your comments to my wife - her head is swelling . But nothing wrong with giving recognition to someone , I also thank you for your warm comments.
  22. Retirement is great - just wish there was more time .

  23. Have made plenty of these names Plaques in the past , but a special order this time - since retirement have had so much more business and my wife has stepped up her game in the pattern making and hand painting part of of my Hobby/Business . A coworker ordered this name Plaque for his wife - but with a twist , roses and and the vine attached. Well my wife spent more time making the pattern and hand painting than I did cutting it and mounting/ glueing the base on . The Customer was delighted with the outcome .....
