    CNC

Hi all, I had a stall at a craft market this past weekend in which everything was supposed to be hand made. Yet there was one stall selling items made on a CNC machine and saying they were hand made! People can't appear to tell the difference. Has any one else come up against this type of opposition at markets? Richie

  7. Can anyone help, I am having trouble printing the word art I have designed on Inkscape, I am using a HP printer, the paper goes through without printing . Thanks Richie
  8. Hi all, just seen a very sad sight, my Hegner scroll saw being taken away to be repaired. I only brought it in February and with 4 months off with my hand opp, it has not been over used. It was getting very noisy and made a loud bang when starting up Hope it won't be long before its back. Still with out the saw to use I can put the kettle on for tea and coffee this morning and bake a cake or two Richie
  9. Hi Marg, they were one of my bast sellers, some of them were money boxes, glad you like them. Richie

Welcome back Keith glad things are getting better for you and your father, the mad Scotsman will be pleased Richie
  11. I was looking through some old photos yesterday and found these two. They must be at least 40 years old. At that time I was mainly doing wood turning on my beautiful Myford ML8 lathe and had a workshop at my parents home. My brother did the pyrography on some of the items. I was doing at least 2 craft markets a month and taking £200 -£400 a market, Those were the days, people respected craftsmanship! The bubble burst in the eighties and has never recovered. richie
  12. Hi all, I did a craft market this last weekend so took a photo of my display. Unfortunately people were not spending their money, so only just covered my costs! I think it's the Rob Roy effect!! Richie
  13. I agree with Ike, great work, it's not the saw you use but the way you use it, and you're doing fine! Richie

  19. Never had any problems with lemon oil, I buff it hard between coats and it dries without any bleeding, and I don't normally put any other finish on top but I do sometime give it a coat of wax. Richie
  20. It's quiet on here today so something to raise a smile. Sometimes women are overly suspicious of their husbands. When Adam stayed out very late for a few nights, Eve became upset. "You're running around with other women," she charged. "You're being unreasonable," Adam responded. "You're the only woman on earth." The quarrel continued until Adam fell asleep, only to be awakened by someone poking him in the chest. It was Eve. "What do you think you're doing?" Adam demanded. "Counting your ribs," said Eve. Richie
  21. Thanks for the coffee Sully, will be praying for you both that all goes well tomorrow. Richie
  22. Hi Roly Great display, it takes time for people to get to know your there, and come Christmas they will be queuing up to buy! One tip that may help, try having steps on the table top so that your items are not all on the same level. All the best for the next one. Richie
  23. Love it, I think the bears have it made as long as the hunters are not around. Thanks Larry
