  3. really nice piece that marshall and a well deserved ribbon! i only hope to reach that standard with a scroll saw in the future
  4. we should maybe gang together and bombard them with a few friendly enthusiastic e-mails to see if they can make the magazine available to download in a pdf format , i download the british army soldier mag online all the time saves a good few pennies in delivery and a good bit of paper!! makes sense and i find it just as easy and enjoyable to read, plus i can only gather they have some nice patterns to offer inside ...so if they're already in pdf or at least on computer your just a click away from printing
  5. Hi Travis, Thanks mate its very generous of you to go out of your way and offer us this, but since i've been on here its becoming obvious your just that type of fella who'll do whatever he can to help out! i think it must have been me who was writing about the cost of the mags and i had considered ordering, but spoke with the mrs......... who generously said i could have the money (of mine)!! But instead i used the cash to order some patterns online and got some lovely stuff as well, i've already started on them for Christmas gifts so at the min plenty on my plate to keep me busy but just wanted to say thanks again mate! p.s i've also started watching your Gimp and inkscape lessons (awesome by the way) so i'm gonna be getting well stuck into them and hopefully get started on designing (or at least playing with and practicing) my own stuff as this seems to be the way forward cheers bud!
  6. cheers!! checking it out right now edit: just been to the site and unfortunately being UK based the cost of delivery means it becomes a little to expensive it works out at just short of $20 per issue which is a real bummer!! shame they don't do a subscription in a down-loadable PDF format for us overseas folk but hey ho.....thanks all the same i'll try and look for a more local distributer and see what i find

    Hello all!

Hi all, My names Jay, i joined your fab site only recently and thought i'd better introduce myself I live in Scunthorpe, NTH Lincolnshire, Eng. i'm pretty new to the world of scroll sawing and started it as a hobby when i finished serving with the British Army. Got to admit at my standard when i look at some of your work i'm a little in awe of you all its a bit of an eyeopener of what can actually be achieved with a scroll saw and talent, i will however get round to posting some pics in my gallery of work i've done so far, although it won't wow you ....i'm really pleased with it all the same , i'm in to tree hangers and x-mas decorations at the min as there's alot that can be done even at my level and still look really effective. i hope to take some time and go through some of the posts on here and pick your brains for advice to help me along as eventually i would like to start designing my own pieces. speak to you all soon Jay
