I love fixing things! Now a 1.5 amp motor isn't going to smoke when something happens to it because of the low amperage.I pick up fans alot that are brand new folks throw away .What ends up happening is the fan blew over and caused it to over heat before someone could put it right side up again.It took me a while to figure out what was wrong with them as they looked brand new inside.No dust,no burn marks ,no smell so it had to be something easy.Well i dissected the motor carefully and on every fan the black wire had a thermostor connected to it and that was stuffed inside a hole in the motor field winding's which get hot before anything else if there's to much load .I just twisted the thermostor wires together and runs just fine The thremoster is the same size as a 1/4 watt carbon resistor encased in a asbestos or fiberglass woven sock or incased in a black heat shrink plastic.I do the same thing with nice speakers people throw away.Every time the problem is in the weakest point the solder joint.The solder connections coming off the voice coil that are glued on the speaker paper cone is where the break is .just use a razor blade and scrap off the varnish before and after the soldered connection and test with an ohm meter.I've repaired and fixed hundreds of dollar free speakers like this that were in cars with big amps or musical amps.Harbor freight has ohm meters for $5.00 or sometimes free one to a customer .A lot cheaper than a new motor ;)A little detective work and you to will be a highly sought after dw788 repairman!

Oh no not the blades,If that was my set up,i'd like to be able to put a cap on the tubes a little .Lots of salt water humidity here close to the beach.That's a happy moment in my shop ,finding a blade i didnt know i lost on the floor.

I believe DonR went the extra mile to give you the best possible pattern for a fitting tribute of your loved one.I grieve with you too,and feel out of place not having the right words to say.The finished portrait is loaded with character,top of the line quality wood portraits tend to bring this out with few lines.Your ideas to place it on matting brings out even more beauty of your work.You've been a member 5 months longer than me from way back in 2009.I used to love seeing your work thru the years.My lettering skills either came from you or one other scroller back then .I was mesmerized at the razor sharp quality you displayed in the words you did,I thrived on every letter you cut and wished i could do the same some day.I think you had a p20 saw then.And i still would like to try one.Thanks for being strong in the club and showing your work!

Getting more organized around here lately.I found some scrolling time to do finishing up on a couple of Christmas projects and then the recent word art patterns that came in."Every praise is 1/4" plywood cut with a scroll reverse #7 "Trust God is 3/4" ply ,same blade and "Keep the faith is 3/4" plywood ,painted in winsor newton "galleria acrylics tube paints 10 years old" attachment=23570:004.jpg]
