  1. Thank you all for the appreciations. Yes I try to do things differently and especially to have a practical side and when possible to make them from recycled materials.I belive that we the ''artists'' have the obligation to be the first to come up with ideas to transform the tons of garbage produced by society .The scroll saw cuts almost anything
  2. Sorry Kris for the delay in answering ;
  3. Some wood burning (shou sugi ban) and a Kamon symbol .I hope you will like it.
  4. If I tell you that my scroll saw was under 50 Eur everybody will laugh.But,you have to know that is not only about the tool,it is more about your skills with that tool.Of course I would like an Excalibur or a Hegner but... I work with this scroll saw from more than 10 years,I did cut metal,plexiglass,plywood,hard wood soft wood,vinyl disc ...my fingers I changed the clamps in the first days after I buy it,pin blade is not an option for me. A photo with a scroll saw like mine;
  5. I do not remember but maybe the next video will help you. Those two counterweights were made by thin aluminium sheets,it's the only thing I remember...and the gears were cut from some laminate floor scrap ,6-8 mm,some HDF or MDF. BMO if you keep just a good sense proportion from drawings you'll figured out , after 2-3 attempts,where to put the pins to gain the best balance. More,on the E letter drawing you can see a small point,if you look better .
  6. I'm ''back'' on SSV thanks to Travis' tutorial video, on Youtube,about portrait making,this reminds me that I'm a member here :). About portrait making ... I have done mine on Paint Shop Pro 10 years ago,it was the only one I ever made,thanks to Arpop (old budy from FSSP). Just because I'm not able to make a portrait,not yet ,that does not means I can not have ideas,to bother someone else with Here is an interesting approach on portrait designing and I'm very curious to know the opinion of those who really have a clue about (Travis ) ; It is metal work,it does not meter can be done in plywood. http://the-art-blog.info/900/alan-derrick-3d-metal-pop-art/
  7. There is no pattern available, 'cause it was not designed for scrollsaw. I saved some Inkscape drawings,at that time, I draw outlines from the photo.I put them here and I hope it will help you.How I see ,from my own file ,the gears were 12cm diameter. Write me ,please,if you can not open the SVG files,I'll try to find another way to post them open-close outline.svg roata dintata 12 cm.svg
  8. Now I see that my posts are not at the proper topic.Sorry , is been a while from when I was active on the forum and I forgot things. Next time,promise !
  9. I made a replica of this sign a few years ago and was really cool .The creator is a Japanese street artist,Ikeda.In the GIF you can see how it works and the photos are from my work;
  10. Thanks for the nice words. The material is Alucobond,two layers of thin aluminium with some polymer between,6mm all.I am not a jeweler and the pieces are really very small for me too,but I have to try it. I have a magnifier and,you know, if something can be cut it must be cut
  11. I am glad you like it,thanks for the nice comments.
  12. I forget how to post pics LOL...
