    A lot of Great advise up there,I have tried Spiral Blades in the past, I will try them again in the future,Before you cut any Portraits do some scrap cutting.

    I know just what ya mean.When I first started it was so overwhelming,I never thought I would get it.But little more than 15yrs latter, I,m combing patterns.Making my own,And Like Roly said Having Fun.And as DW stated,no pattern is cut in stone.have fun.

    I have a Porter,and I have had it for over a year,I don't have those problems,Mine is working fine.I bought mine at Lowes.If you got the extended warranty I would take it back for an exchange.They are some Special Screws you can adjust, they are behind the Label.I was reading my owners manual.You can try that.They are at the Top,Bottom.Hope you are able to fix your problems.

    My Granddaughters will come down every so often to my shop,they like to have hands on,doesn't matter what they cut,Although I do let them cut simple things.I really grabs their attention.
