  1. I keep seem ing different color stains on things. Like red, yellow and green. Where are these found? I have all the normal wood stains. Lowes looked at me like I was crazy when I asked.
  2. Thanks I didn't think this could happen occasionally. I just assumed if you are shopping at a garage sell you might like it at a low price. I insulted another lady her husband was fixing my freezer and she came with him. She was looking through some of the things I made and said her name. I guess I was suppose to know her name. I said nice to meet you Blah blah. Wellll she said she was an artist and started mentioning places that had her art. She didn't say what medium she was an artist in and asked her. Well her husband and I traded to get the bill down. He laughed all the way to his truck.
  3. This is going to be strange. During the summer I had a garage sell. I decided to sell somethings that my neighbors didn't take. They were signs, crosses and small baskets. I priced them at what it cost in supplies to make and just a small bit over.( $4.00 to 8.00) I received many compliments, but only one bought. Most said I was to low and needed sell them at a higher price and left. One has come back and wanted to buy some crosses and some others things. I gave her the same price as I did in the summer. She was the one that really tried to convence me that things were to low during the garage sell. Well now it gets strange, when she heard the low price she said "Do you think that I can't afford these things at a higher price?" I said no that was the price in the summer it's the same price now. Unless you want to go somewhere and buy some type of supplies for me. I said there is a list in the garage or I can get you a copy. Well she left in a huff. Can you sell things to low? The neighbors don't seem to be concerned about free.

    wood

I was very lucky with the drill. I have to take my glasses off so I can line the drill. When my hair was cought up in the drill I just dropped it about 10" so it didn't get to tight. I just reversed the drill a moment and most came out. Then I pulled and untangled.
  5. Do not look up hard wood on your computer! It wasn't what I was looking for. I did find a store here in Lubbock that carry's exotic and domestic woods. They let me look through their scrap pile. I bought zebra wood two pieces 5" x 3' for $10.00. The domestic stuff was $5.00 it was maple, oak, and ceder. The domestic were in several different sizes. They cut and planed everything for me for $10.00. I would of bought more but my phone rang and the person that took me said get out of there before you buy the store. One more thing always were your long hair in a pony tail, I didn't know that part of the drill went around.
  6. Humm I don't know if dipping a mushroom in poly would prevent this or not. A friend brought some stuff over that they finish basketball courts with that he had left over. I think dipping the mushroom in that might preserve the mushroom. When the mushroom dries I'll set it on the shelves I use to dry things on. I'll try putting somethings to dry on top of a fridge, it's hot and there should be a lot less humidity. Thanks all.
  7. When I finish polyurethaning and the projects dry I have been getting something like a white fungas. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong? It doesn't happen to everything only the one's some one wants. Thanks.
  8. Thanks ya'll
  9. I am looking to buy a belt and disc sander. I just can't figure out which one. I need it light enough so I can take it and store it when I'm not using it. Oh yes the bit is still in the ankle. For some reason they think a busted appendix is more important. I tried to get a 2 for one but they wouldn't do it. Had quite the infection in there. The doc just now said I can get back to making saw dust. (It's been a month.) The only way I can get all my Christmas presents made is to get help with the sanding,
  10. Thanks all!!!
  11. WWWeeeeLLLL it's worse then I thought since they said surgery Fri. For some reason just cause its next to some other metal in my leg. Whats one more small itsey tiny etc.. piece of metal going to hurt. It's in fected and no you can't watch the surgery. So I am getting some masking tape spraying it with adheisive spray putting saw dust on top with a blade to curb the withdrawl. I went down today and bought all the tiny wire bits at the local tool store so I'm happy.
  12. Thanks all! I just need to keep practicing with it.
  13. Can someone tell me what you use a spiral blade for?? It doesn't seem to go streight.
  14. Thanks Doug.
  15. I had just finished putting a new top on my bench. I moved it away from the scroll saw, and put the dremel drill on the knob on the front and started scrolling marrily away. I was just about through and hit the drill and yes there was a wire bit on it. It fell between my knees and into my foot then to the floor. It went through a minor vein so bleeding was a bit of a problem. I grabbed a staining rag from the table saw. Apply pressure, called a neighbor to get a clean towel. He comes over looks at the floor and says @#$$% Rhonda. I grabbed the towel got it stopped the blood. I looked at the drill and the bit was broke said S#$@# that was my last wire bit in that size. He started helping me clean up and he all of a sudden looked at me and said do you know where the other end of that bit is? So I grabbed a magnet and went run it over the floor, no bit. They found it this morning in my foot next to the bone. Moral don't leave the bit in the drill or you might break the last wire bit you have in that size.
  16. Mine from the base of the stand to the top of the table is 40". The front of the stand to the back is 30" take an inch or so off for the saw base and you have how long the saw is. The stand is 16 3/4" wide in the front. I wish mine was a lot shorter so I could sit in a normal chair:)
  17. When I stopped using the bubble level and just used the saw into a piece of wood and check the angle worked fairly well. Now the top cuts slightly smaller then top. When I get to Lowes I will get a small level. Thanks every one.
  18. Yes it does! Thanks all.
  19. Would the garage floor not being level cause this? I dropped my level and found out it wasn't level. The only way I could correct the saw was not trusting the bubble level and cutting into a board till the angle was almost streight. I only have a half inch board to test on. I used the 2x4 to test the router table i'm building. It will be great making my own plaques then buying them from Hobby Lobby and Michaels.
  20. Thank you. Thats what I'm using. Number 5 reverse skip tooth. I actually have three dewalt tables. When Dewalt sent this new saw to replace another. The new saws table wouldn't line up so I could screw it down. I called Dewalt, they had me measure the table. Turned out the blade hole was almost an 8th of inch off center. The middle is 8" the blade touched the left side of the blade hole. They sent me the table off my old one and a new one when another came in. I am thinking of working for 'Consumers Report'. I think I would make a great saw tester.
  21. My new saw is starting to do what my last one did. The top of the piece is fine but underneath the letters are almost cutting into the next letter or has. The thicker the wood the more pronouced this is. Since I want to get into some compound cutting this is going to be a problem. Is this me or the saw?

    Fonts

    Thanks Travis!
  23. What fonts do you use to make your word art?
  24. I have no idea where mine go. I put them in a box and I look in there when I put something else in there their gone. Might have something to do with the neighbors, they stopped coming over when the saw was down. Now that I have it back so are they. I have some ideas going that I'm thinking of selling. Just need to think them through and work them out on paper.
  25. Right now its just signs. I have one for my little brother who fishes alot, few cross patterns, and some more " You can't fix stupid" signs. Those seem to popular every one wants one for their spouse.
