    Hello

Hi John welcome aboard, sorry to hear about your health. My wife is diabetic, has been since she was 3 years old. That is 53 years now. She is using the insulin pump and is doing excellent, but it is a uphill battle all the way. Don't dispair, keep up the fight. Good luck with the scroll saw, I hope it keeps you busy.
  5. Super stuff Cherie, I really enjoyed touring your web site. I have been working on one but can never seem to get it finished. The arrow heads, are they compound cut or two pieces put together? They look great Where can i find the patterns? Thanks Clyde
  6. Thanks Jim. I also have started another of my neice, I will be posting it to the pattern mentoring page to get feedback with in the next few days. Let me know what you think when you see it . Clyde
  7. Well the weather sucks again today, rain and about 5 degrees on the Rock. Maybe I'll get a fire going in the shed and finish a few odde and ends of projects that just did not get finished. Shed needs to be tidied up badly after all winter.
  8. Thanks so much for the compliments. She is my Special Girl, I only cut, she supplied the beauty . I am already working on a second portrait, this time my neice. Again I may be looking for help in the pattern mentor forum.
  9. This is a portrait of my grandaughter that I cut as a mother's day gift for her mother and my wife, her grandmother. From the reaction I got , I think they liked it, a lot . Thanks to Frieke for the final pattern and those that added comments in the pattern mentors forum. What do you think??
  10. Thanks, I stack cut three of these. One of them has been professionally framed and presented to the young man at his graduation last Sat night. He was delighted. Although he is non-verbal there was no mistaking his appreciation of the piece. Thanks for your comments.
  11. WOW, what a piece of work!!! Must have taken forever to do.
  12. This is piece I made for a handicappedstudent I work with that is graduating this year. He loves Nascar racing and favours Jimmy Johnson in car 48. The pattern was designed by Sue Mey. You can check out her site at scrollsawartist.com. Picture is a little small, I am still learning how to do it right. Any tips??
  13. I purchased the SSCW yesterday, your piece popped out at me immediately . Congrats on being published
  14. My Holy Grail would be an intarsia piece of "The Last Supper" about 18X 30 inches in size . Using exotic woods and with lots of patience. I haven't got the guts to start a project like that yet. As we say around here, "it would be a winter works project".
  15. What a pig!!! Great job, I will need to do one as we collect pigs.
  16. I am a teacher and just the other day I was working with a grade 7 class, the students were assigned the task of brainstorming the idea of recycling things that are not normally recycled. Amoung the many suggestions offered one student suggested that broken hockey sticks would be a good item. When asked, What could you do with a broken hockey stick? One suggestion was, where hockey sticks are made of hardwood they would be good for crafts or made into toys. Then of course I had to explain that I made things out of hardwood as a hobby and that I now had a new source of material. What a wonderful idea and what a coincidence that you should post such a question..
  17. Hi my name is Clyde, I have been looking around the site for some time now and I'm impressed with what I see. There is a lot of talent out there and the site is great. Travis, I have followed your tutorials on GIMP and used it to create a pattern of my grandaughter that I plan to cut soon. (Still having some issues with the mouth area should I show the teeth or not????. I will post some of my stuff soon. I have been scrolling about 6 years and enjoy every minute of it. Clyde from Newfoundland, aka, The Rock
