  1. I've been meaning to get around to doing a scrollsaw portrait of my husband, Ken, for some time. Finally did it. H.
  2. Wow! What more can I say? H
  3. That's beautiful! Great piece of work. H.
  4. Nice one Dan. You know I could have sworn the guy's name was 'Custer'. I was expecting something completely different! LOL H.
  5. That is really beautiful Marg. I can understand how it took you 11.5 hours! Worth the effort though as its for you. Nice one! H.
  6. Thanks everyone for your comments. I'm a bit of a perfectionist and could have carried on tinkering with it for years but 'him indoors' insisted we put it out as is. I'll get it just right in stages. Marg, My hand has healed thanks Marg, but all the nerves are now right on the surface. I hit the roof the other day when I forgot and picked up a piece of toast with my right hand. I guess I'll be wearing a thumb stall for the forseeable future. That'll teach me. I've still got to make the box I'd started for a customer when I did it.
  7. Nice cutting and a lovely saying. Doing two of everything is a really good idea. H.
  8. This is really nice. I like the way you can put any number in. Well done. H
  9. After months of messing around we have finally got our website onto the internet. This may not be the best place to put this post but I couldn't think of anywhere else (and I'm chuffed that its finally live). If you could possible have a peek at it; comments would be appreciated. http://www.HRMCrafts.com Thanks. H.
  10. Oh good. I'm glad someone else owned up so I'm not alone. I can't figure it out either. Derrrrrrrr! H.
  11. Hey! That's really good! I bet the spokes on the wheels caused you some anxious moments. H.
  12. Brilliant! I love it. H
  13. Great work John. I love the Kokopelli designs - theres' something about them that always make me smile. Doing them out of CD's is a great way of recycling as well. H.
  14. Great plaque Mike! I have to admit at first glance I thought the hammerhead at the top was a shark with its mouth agape about to eat the fish just below it ... then I had a closer look. Okay so its been a long day. Seriously though it really does look brilliant. Go for it with the magazine - the worst they can say is 'No'. H.
  15. A really great piece of work. Please let us know what he thought of it. H
  16. That's beautiful. I'm just starting to look at intarsia and now have something to aim for. H.
  17. That's really sweet. Can't quite see how you fixed the clock in the middle? H.
  18. Lovely. What more can I say? Its beautiful. H.
  19. Lovely work Marg. I'm sure your customer will be really pleaseed with them. H.
  20. Brilliant! The first sign is definitely appropriate for this household - I'm one of the messiest people I know. My Grandmother once gave me a little sign saying "Creative people are rarely tidy" and its never been more true than with me. With regard to the second sign - I don't think a 'normal' husband would have me. H.
  21. Great cutting! You certainly got you a*** in gear that day! Sorry to hear about your situation though. Our thoughts are with you. Hope things turn out okay. H.
  22. Walnut is dangerous to humans too. Don't ever make a toy that a child may put in their mouth. With regard to the thicknesser - good on ya. I've had a Dewalt for a few years and boy! it really is noisy but it certainly does the job. I put some elm through it a couple of weeks ago and I was up to my knees in chips in no time. As I try to cut the noise down for my neighbours I try to do it in my wood shed - found some interesting bits of wood after I'd cleared the 5 bin bags of chippings out of it. H
  23. I thought you guys might like to see what I've been up to lately. Both are commissions for customers at my husband's work - the first is for a woman whose son is into horror films and has decked his downstairs toilet out with all sorts of horror memorabilia. The other is for a guy who is retiring at the beginning of next month. Both pieces have a little scrollsaw work and a little pyrography in them. H. .
  24. She's a gorgeous little girl. Lovely cutting. Something I'm sure will be treasured for years to come (and probably make her squirm with embarrassment when she starts bringing boyfriends home ). Well Done! H.
  25. What a lovely idea and great cutting to make a really beautiful piece. Something I'm sure your daughter will treasure for years to come. H.
