  1. Thanks for the encouragement. Us grandpas need it sometimes.
  2. New Guy, Kinda like this one. I took this a few weeks ago to post on the other scroll saw forum.
  3. I like Altoids and have finally found a use for the empty tin. I cut some puzzles from slices of a ~2" mesquite limb. I sprayed primer then some gold paint on the tin.
  4. I have wanted to cut that pattern every time I've seen it. One of these days, perhaps I will. You did a stellar job cutting and framing. Probably heard a ding as you leveled up.
  5. Yeah Rusty, that happens a lot here in Tucson. Not sure why.
  6. Thanks again for the encouragement.
  7. Marg, I'm hoping never to have to use it for that. But I will if I need to. WHACK!
  8. Thanks. Thanks a lot.
  9. I made a new walking stick from a windfall limb of my mesquite tree. The red part on top is from my neighbor's eucalyptus tree. My wife can't take a photo without showing something in the background. Often my head is cut off enable to show her flowers or something. heheh
  10. It's a PC but .... same thing huh? I picked up mine at Lowes.
  11. The name puzzles did it for me too. I'm gona do that for my grandkids when they come next month.
  12. That is really nice. Where did you get the metal work on the top? It really looks good.
  13. I finished these today and put a coat of mineral oil on them. I'm new to scroll sawing. I downloaded the patterns from Steve Good's site. A GREAT place.
  14. My neighbor, Pete, let me play with his scroll saw and I found I NEEDED one too. I bought a Porter Cable last week and am having a good time making junk. I'm gathering patterns like mad and am so looking forward to cutting some of them. I'm not at all worried about the learning curve, heck, I'm retired and have time. Thanks for the good site and resources. Stephen in Tucson, AZ
