  1. Hi Patrick. Tony from Canada here. It's a great place you came across here. I'm kind of a new guy as well but always learning. Ask a question and you always get an answer. You are going to like your new hobby wether you make simple things or fancy stuff. Take your time and think things through and you will do fine.
  2. That worked well Kevin but my way works also " honey bunny, I need some help". Wife just isn't always here to whine to. Lol
  3. I don't know why they end up like that Larry. From now on when I post a picture everybody must stand on their head. There, problem solved. Lol
  4. A little while ago woman from work asked me to make her daughter some silhouettes. She is having a birthday party and the daughter (Nadia) wanted to make one of the activities a painting party. There will be eight kids and I thought holy cow, what can I make for a room full of kids. It really wasn't a problem. My wife helped me look up some nice simple designs and once I got started I couldn't stop. Well Nadia's mom bought me the wood but I think it was this thank you note that I like best. There aren't any pictures yet to show you guys but mom promised to show me them when the party is over on Saturday. Have a good day everyone and I will talk to you later
  5. Very nice Dick but I made the mistake of showing the wife. Guess what, that's right will be making one as well. When will I ever learn?
  6. That's a great piece Bill. You can certainly be proud of it.
  7. I have never seen them before Dan but then I have never really looked either. Now I will be on the hunt. Thanks for the tip.
  8. Hello Bruce, it's nice to meet you. I'm just down the road from you in Stratford.
  9. I had also thought about selling my stuff but I already have a job and didn't think another would be a good idea. As for now I give my work away. Friends know if they come across wood in their travels to scoop it up for me just to help keep my costs down. Like it was mentioned earlier by some of the guys I was afraid it would take the fun out of scrolling and I certainly do enjoy my garage time. Take care and good luck with whatever you decide.
  10. It was suggested that I build a stand with a 30 degree angle to it. Now I can saw for a good length of time. I still get googly eyes but it's nothing another coffee(beer) can't fix. It's nicer on the back not being slouched over all the time.
  11. Sorry to hear about your fire. An injury or fire is something we can certainly do without. Wish we could organize a care package to help get you back on your feet.
  12. Doing goofy things is where I got my name from. As the wife talks to her friends she can say " oh, and guess what that knob tony did now". Doing stupid things just seems second nature for me. Not much of a gift I think.lol
  13. Have had a couple nasty kick backs from the table saw as well, also a bad gash while cutting rags. I deserved that one though, I certainly knew better.
  14. I always have better luck routing first while it is still a solid piece. Good luck.
  15. Thanks for the welcome guys. My first orders business is how to post my pictures right side up. I'm not very computer savy but the wife said it's an Apple thing
  16. I'm color blind so I have learnt over the years to read and then read again but I'm still sure there is a goof just lurking around the corner.
  17. I can see that I have a lot to learn but it looks like I have come to the right place. Hello everyone, glad to meet you all in time.
