  8. Very cute and well done Denny.
  9. Sorry Barry. You would have to teach me how to use a broom and dust pan. Are these cooking utensils or wood working tools...LOL

  13. Yes one more...LOL this one is from one solid piece of Walnut 8 x 4 ¾ and 1 ½” high. Hogged out center and lid on table saw. Laminated ⅛” Aspen between two ⅛” pieces of Walnut for sides and dowaled into body. Accented front of lid with ¼” banding. Finished with Minwax wipe on poly satin and buffed with cabinet makers wax.
  14. He has a nice smile Chuck and you did a real fine job of cutting. Do I Iike it?, I have to say I do. Well done
  15. Fine work John. Really like the box. It’s different. Well done.
  16. Hi les. When it comes to tools I prefer working with hand tools over power. Hand tools gives me the quietness, feel of the wood, and no breathing dust. Hand tools I'm referring to are hand planes, hand routers, spoke shaves, scrapers, chisels, Japaneese saws and etc. So hand tools are my first choice and the older tools top my preference. Power tools will speed up a certain process but I get more satisfaction at the end of a project havimg doing most of it by hand.
  17. Very well done Gary. I like tab joints and they look great on certain style of boxes.
  18. Beautiful cutting Dick. Really like the roping cowboy. Congrats on your new grandchild. Hope he's doing well.
  19. Hi RJ. One or two hours...LOL just kidding. Each box varies as to when one is completed. Some will take a matter of ten to fifteen hours where others can take a few weeks. I think most of my time is spent thinking of a design that will look good and is different. I have no dead lines to meet so time really dosen't matter. What matters the most is that at the end I'm satisfied.
  20. I use a cheese cloth Paul and buff by hand. Thank you.
  21. Hi Jim. The splines are ⅛” thick wood banding inlayed. Did the same on lid along with a strip of Blood wood planed down to an ⅛” and inlayed into Holly. Some wood workers make their own banding. I’ll make plane banding and purchase the fancy banding from Lee Valley that is available in several patterns and widths. Thank you.

  25. If you have a Windsor Plywood store just check. Most stock the exotic woods and will be glad to bring in what ever you wish if they don’t have it in stock.
