Fantastic work Dan. Love the wood you've chosen for this pattern. Everything ties in nicely, especially your wife's idea. Used to purchase the Creative woodworks and Crafts magazine for a few years but I haven't seen it in any of the stores lately. Is it still in production?

I like them both Dan. Terrific job. I deal a lot with the first nation people so the native one will be interesting to do. Thank you.

Finishing: The only finish I use on all my projects is polyurethane which is low odor and available in semi gloss. I apply three to four thin coats sanding in between each one. Then I complete each with carpenters wax. Amazing how the richness of the wood grain comes alive especially in the exotic hardwood.

Craft show: I have yet to do a craft show but I have done many shows in regards to the business I am in which is the monument industry. I have found you have to draw attention to your booth creating interest to give people a reason to take a second look and stop. Stay away from give aways. As a sugestion I would set up with a small scroll saw within the display so people can see how some of your beautiful work is actually made. Many times I have seen other scrollers set up with a fabulous display and people just walking by. If you happen to attend any of the big craft shows you'll see what I mean.

Roses: Nice work Sparkey.

Spray adhesive: Before sanding dampen items with mineral spirits,similar to a paint thinner and gently wipe glue off. A lot less sanding required.

From Prince Albert., Saskatchewan, Canada. Been scrolling for approximately 16 years. I recall my first project was a Xmas scene. A gift for my mother done on a 16" scroll saw. Wasn't long before I was hooked and outgrew the 16", a 20" and now very satisfied with my 30". Other interests are fly fishing and photography.
