  1. Possibility over tightening the tension, set screw needing adjustment, blade allignment out, too much force on blade while cutting, stock thickness, speed, wrong blade type. Just a few thoughts re: blades breaking.
  2. Terrific Tim. Well done.
  3. I've seen these fat Ford patterns and like them very much. You've done a beautiful job on these ones Steve.
  4. Excellent cutting of a fine pattern Dick.
  5. Excellent Mike. Nicely designed, cut and good choice of woods.
  6. Excellent cutting Al and nicely framed.
  7. I'll study an intricate pattern prior to cutting so I'm aware ahead of time of some of the issues that can arise. Once I've planned a general route visually which only takes a few minutes I than give thought to other considerations. Such as blade type, backer board, tape and etc. This training of thought soon becomes automatic and before you know it you're challenging yourself to more intricate patterns. When it comes to any fragile area to be cut I use packing tape to help give it more strength. You've done an excellent job cutting Bob. Well done. If you altered a branch a little, then it was meant to be ... right.
  8. Credit to you and your wife. Well done. Capt. America will definitely put a smile upon Asher's face. Prayers go out to Asher and family.
  9. You could bevel a 45 edge and lightly darken. Nicely cut Ralph.
  10. As you are tightening the blade Jeff flick the back. Once you hear a ping you should have the correct tension. You don't want to over tighten.
  11. Love the color and grain of Cherry wood Steve. For the two items (Cherry wood) attached I used Minwax wipe on poly / clear satin. Applied four coats.
  12. Any orbital sander will work Sam. It's a matter of preference and budget in mind. Majority of them are made in China and chances are from the same factory with a different name and casing. I happen to use a Makitta but have used Craftsman as well. No difference other than price. I hook mine up to a shop vac being I find the dust bag useless.
  13. When I'm in need of zero clearance I use blue tape. Works perfect without losing thickness capacity.
  14. No contest is correct Roly. Beautiful turning.
  15. Like then the message is being applied all over the world. But today you need a much bigger imagination. Well done Dave.
  16. Jerry, even if I were Irish, the charm would'nt help me ... Lol well done on both items.
  17. Do you even know what rust is or looks like? Nice work my friend.
  18. Terrific cutting Frank. Well done.
  19. Thanks for the reminder Ed. Terrific.
  20. It's nice to see young people show interest and do well in a great hobby. Congrats to your daughter Bryan. Well done.
  21. Nice call sign Dan. Well done.
  22. Like all three Bobby. Well done.
