  7. Hi Folks, Sorry it's taken me awhile to get back to you on this subject. My computer crashed--it is either the video card or the mother board. The computer being 6 yrs. old, I was advised to ger a new one. The scroll saw, I took it to a factory outlet to have it overhauled. They could not find anything wrong and asked me to bring in some wood I was using. I did and showed the tech what I was working on and made the saw act like it was lagging or slipping. The tech ended up calling DeWalt they said I should not be cutting 1 inch oak on the saw and that was the problem. Cost $54 and change. Have not used it yet when I do i'll try a little compound cutting with a liter wood. Joey

  14. Hi , Checked out Rick's site. Got some good Ideas. When I opened my saw I did not see any thing out of the ordinary. I did notice on the circuit board there are 2 pots. I called Dewalt and was told that the pots were set by the company who made the board and Dewalt had no further info on them. Has anyone tried to adjust these pots? Or know just what their function is? thank you, Joey

  17. Bigred7469, Here are a couple of books you might want to look at: The new scroll saw hand book by Patrick Spielman Scroll saw workshop bench reference by Zachary Taylor Try your local library. If you can find a scroll saw picnic, go. There you will be able to try the saws and talk to people who are just starting out and have been scrolling for many years. They might even let you try out their saws and you will see some fantastic completed projects. Good luck, Joey

  19. Hi, My Dewalt s/s is knocking from setting 6 through the end #8. I've adjusted the rod item# 24 counterclockwise twice ( 2 full turns). The knocking is still there. What else should I be looking for? Facing the saw, I turned the rod to the left, am I correct? Thank you, Joey

  22. Shutterbug, I also use the FD-SR #3 blades for fret work.I do not know if its the blades or my using a backer board on everything I cut. My backer boards are old drawer bottoms, paneling, scrap ply wood etc. Do not have tear out problems, at least so far that is. Most times the backers can be used, like when your cutting christmas ornaments. Joey
