    It was a first attempt and so was cut from some cheap pine. I spray painted the pieces and then used a clear varnish on them. I dont think i would so it the same way next though. I will use some hard wood to reduce the amount of sanding and have been told that painting the pieces with acrylic paint might be easier. I am however very pleased with the results and everybody that i have shown think it looks great which obviously i am very pleased about. I havent made a board, I have bought one as I need it to be ready for christmas which I am cross about but i just dont have the time to do it. Thanks for the nice comments

    Hi Yes I found the same thing. I did buy some from wood work craft supplies but i bought enough that i didnt have to pay for p+p. I will be buying from the states when they run out in the future. I dont know why they are so expensive over here or why they can cost £6 for delivery. I find it very annoying
