A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of spending a few weeks with my folks and was in my Dad's shed. I came across his pyrography tool and started dabbling on some scrap timber, then found his scroll saw - and some more scrap timber! I got hooked, bought some good timber (in my naive timber experience - pine was better than the plywood!!) broke countless blades, doubled his 'burning' pile and eventually knocked out some presentable gifts. Now I'm totally hooked, have my own pyrography set and my other half spoilt me rotten and bought me an Excalibur - as long as I keep his beer fridge stacked and have some time in the kitchen - fair deal I reckon! By the way, Dad's a lot happier too knowing I've got my own 'toys'
