  1. What a beautiful cross Sparkey. You have done really well. Thank you for sharing it with us.
  2. Hi Kevin, yes, retirement is fun with so much to do. if I showed you the perch where I do all my scrolling you's all laugh. it's a little corner of the garage with my scroll saw perched on a workmate stand, a drill press and bandsaw on another. Anything else like sanding, table sawing I have to do outside when it's not raining. But what the heck, it's good fun. The biggest piece puzzle that I have done is 211 piece on 4 mm MDF. It was just a little smaller than an A3 sheet of paper and it was of an oil painting that I did. My glasses aren't safety glasses. I need them to see where the scroll saw is.... . I am thinking of getting one of those large magnifying glasses with a light i them to be able to see the pattern lines. If I can find out how to load photos I'll post pictures of some of my work. Just don't expect anything too good....lol
  3. Thanks everybody for your warm welcome. I'm sure that I've joined the right community and look forward to getting to know you all better.
  4. G'day everybody, I'm Clive and I live in the South Island of New Zealand. I have been scrollsawing for about eighteen months on an entry level Ryobi 405 scroll saw. I hope on day to upgrade to an Excalibur 21 which should last me till I fall off my perch. I am retired so I get a lot of time to practice. Most of my scroll sawing has been in making jigsaw puzzles for children which i make for an organisation to which I belong. This organisation is Santa Claus workshop, a group of about 10 retired men who make about 1000 toys a year to give away to needy children at Christmas time. I am keen to learn as much as I can from all you other scrollers and to also try different areas of scrolling such as portraits, and fretwork pieces
