  1. I have seen craft people cut an aluminium coca cola can with scissors , that is how thin you would need it. Why not cut the words out with scissors or scroll the aluminium can that's salvage or up cycling. This is just an idea I had i don't know if it would work. Linda
  2. Kevin you are too kind for words, your good deed won't go un noticed , and I love your work on the sleigh and reindeer I hope I can aspire to making the sleigh and reindeer just like yours. Linda
  3. I am so happy for you that you have this order , don't go hell for leather at it, take your time, or you will do yourself in. I see you play the harmonica my John plays it as well. Do you play it often. Linda
  4. Thanks Marge I did, I didn't know which saw to go to.
  5. Thanks Dick for your comments I am now looking at everything wooden to see how I can change it. Especially if I am short of time for a present, I now don't feel so guilty. Linda
  6. Kevin when I first got the bandsaw I was not careful enough and I got wrapped on the nuckles by a round piece of wood flying off the blade, since then I talk to myself all the time I am using it saying watch where your fingers are and now I dominate the bandsaw and make it do what I want, but I know what you are saying . As I am scared of my router I haven't taken it out of it's box , but Rob Roy said to me take the router out and play about with it with out a a bit in it , and I am thinking of all the things I could make with it, Linda.
  7. Thank you lads, it was a bit hard scrolling a ready made bowl that was bigger than the original pattern as I had to do it inside the bowl and the lip of the bowl kept touching the top of the scroll saw as I couldn't get down to do the small curve my bandsaw came to the rescue to be able to finish it off. Linda
  8. I made this present for Christmas, I cheated as I didn't make the bowl I haven't got the time before Christmas to cut the bowl so I went to the home ware store and bought a salad bowl. The wood is from the rubber wood tree. I cut the scroll on my scroll saw and my bandsaw sanded it and there you are a bowl for the ladies to keep their wool clean and stops it rolling around the floor. A knitting bowl. After Christmas I will make a bowl the pattern is in the scrollsaw and crafts magazine summer 2014.
  9. John I love salvaged wood and found wood on the beaches of North cornwall, and South Dorset. I have lots of that, I think I will use Baltic birch ply and just stain the frame piece, thanks for telling me the wood you used very interesting.
  10. Oh I just love that , I have the book of wild life plates for the scroll saw, what wood did you use, I think I would like to make those plates as you have with a base and frame. There is no place I can find in England that sells ready made plates. You have done a great job don,t down yourself , you have inspired me to try this out. Linda
  11. The pressure of it all to get orders done in a certain time has got to you, you are the only one who can get your self out of this situation , God helps those who help them selves, so give your self a good talking to and get those orders out of the way you will feel so much better then, then get inspired to do something for yourself you will enjoy it again as you will have no pressure put on you. Linda
  12. Lovely work Marge, the wood is especially nice, are you goin to round off the corners. There are so many species of wood we can,t get in England.

  15. Lovely , we'll cut Christmas tree, the ornaments look like they are backed with cellophane or glass , but I do love the paint job she has done.
  16. I found this in one of my books , and I thought perhaps you could put your names on a box lid and box a useful item and a personalised one. Linda
  17. My reindeer candle holder no. 2 made with English yew, I have 2 discs to cut to put on top of the antlers for the candles. I am thinking of fashioning a sleigh. This is for youngest daughter I have cut the body of reindeer no. 3. Ready to do for oldest daughter.

  19. I found your old gallery Kevin, but I don,t think I came across chain saw Palm trees , what I did see from page 25 to page 1 , was simply brilliant and very inspiring you have tried most things. I was in depression mode yesterday but looking at your work has bucked me up again and given me new ideas. I was also listening to Lena Martel and her song "one day at a time sweet Jesus". The words are very appropriate.
