  1. Dick, I used to have a wood burning stove in my shop for the poorer choices of the operator. That is a tough pattern and still came out well. The Mount Rushmore is even more impressive to actually see. I want to see the "Crazy Horse" again too. When I saw them the C-H was barely started.
  2. You always have nice work and good advice too. I avoid mdf and even try not to use much plywood.
  3. Very nice work. I like the dream catcher best; but, i have lived a few years on a reservation.
  4. AS a sawdust enthusiast and a car buff' I do really like this. Man Cave special!

  12. Ah, cut from just the red part of the cedar! NEAT! Sometimes we have to make something for ourselves!
  13. Total agreement; I do remember my using a pedal, not a crank sewing machine; of course when electricity dame to the farm, a new sewing machine was a PRIORITY!
  14. Nice work as usual Dick! That beats -25/30 degrees F.- and the tools scream when you turn them on; like one of my shops was over winter!
  15. I have a home-made one that I only use occasionally; as it is difficult to do right.
  16. I like the Celtic thing. The lizard is nice work too. I have used a torching effect for several decades now and always seem to get nice results
  17. I had a special request to try to build a carousel type rocking horse. I have made 65+ kid sized rocking toys, plus a bunch of mini-sized stress reliever ones. SO I said, why not try. Here is the result. It is 37+1/2 inches tall 35 inches long and 14 inches wide. All construction is screwed and glued with the visible screw holes filled or plugged. I use a jig that I had made years ago for the rocker assembling. The wood is pine and a bit of unknowns for the top-cap and the handle. They were turned from firewood pile. The customer wanted to do the paint/trim etc. as that is one of my weaknesses anyway that is more than fine! The design is fro the rjR/ T & E design studio. All cross braces are also reinforced underneath. It passed the ride test by me with flying(ROCKING) colors too. When I get so I cannot test ride them; I am going to quit making them and give my rocker assembly jig and templates away. I did make posterboard templates for this one. If I make another, it will also have thin plywood templates made at the cutting time.
  18. Neat and Good Luck on the sales too.
