  1. I had it, but returned to Win 7. 10 had no support for my dvd player/recorder and no Media player. Microsoft wanted to push me to their music player and I have nearly 200 Gb of music files that I won't risk being rendered unusable. I know I could use VLC or some other software to fix the problem, but I'm OK with Win 7. I game a lot (first person shooters) and I am concerned that rumor is you need to upgrade to 10 to be able to run DirectX 12, so I may be forced to change if future games require 12. (and I have little doubt, they will) As far as having problems, Microsoft has made it very easy to roll back to your former version. My brother in law lives in Thailand and uses his PC for streaming American NFL, e-mailing, sending pictures and the like. He is running Win 98! He has NEVER done an update and seems to have no problems. Sounds crazy, but true, lol
  2. Wow! I've done a lot of lathe work and I can't believe the glue up on that thing. I wonder if a person could survive a kick back on a tractor driven lathe? I would like to have seen a swimming pool full of BLO for the finish. lol
  3. Very nice. I'd like to make one myself, but I live in the desert. Want to see some confused people, put an Ice auger and a tip-up in your front yard in Tucson and watch the people try to figure out, what the heck those things are. lol
  4. Without the bad days, how would you recognize the good ones? At Least I was able to get through it. Time was, I'd have to drive on those bald tires until I could replace them.
  5. I think I can match that. I had a bad week. My AC/Heat pack died and a replacement set me back $8000. Three days after having that replaced I was out doing errands and returned to a house full of smoke. My washing machine had burned out (bearings) and a replacement cost me $500. Then at the end of the week, I awoke to a flat tire. 3 hours later, I was at the tire shop and ended with a $600 set of tires. Man, I hope it is true that bad things come in threes and not fours. lol
  6. You weren't awarded custody of your scroll saw?? Man, that's cold!
  7. I was once told, "You can buy a dust collector or you can be one."
  8. I started vaping 2 1/2 yrs ago and I'm down to #8 nicotine. My vaper counts puffs and I'm down to 40 or so a day. I feel much better and the money saved on smokes goes for wood, blades etc. Good Luck. and nice work
  9. Hi, all. I just found your site and would like to introduce myself. I'm a native Minnesotan retired and living in Tucson, Az. I'm 64 and am starting back into scrolling after nearly 15 years. I also work in stained glass and am trying to learn to carve. I retired at 57 and moved to Panama City, Panama for awhile before buying a home in Mazatlan, Mexico and living there for 5 years or so before returning to the States. Really glad I found you guys. I'm somewhat challenged trying to find wood for scrolling and glass actually for that matter here in the Southwest. I guess in Minneapolis more people are involved with indoor type hobbies due to the long winters. Here people tend to roam around the desert and get involved in biking and hiking rather than spend they're time indoors. Oh, well. Like they say here, "you don't have to shovel sunshine." bye for now, wilson142
  10. Hello, Zen. I'm a new member, about 20 min. ago actually. Stumbled on your post wandering through the site and saw that really nice pc. of wood. I buy some of my wood from a place called Ocooch Hardwoods out of Wisconsin. They sell Blue Pine in limited widths that look an awful lot like what you posted. Not sure if that's what you have but, they look similar. Nice find!
