  1. Once again thank you all for the warm welcome! I'm already learning so much just by reading through all the forum posts here and the Articles section. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions as I go along. For instance I tried some spiral blades for the first time this weekend and wow I got mad respect for the folks that use those. I was all over the place...lol
  2. This is what I use as well. I bought it when my wife was coupon crazy (it was costing more for her to print online coupons than we were saving on groceries..lol)
  3. I'm looking forward to seeing this finished!
  4. Wow my Grandson loves trains and that is one awesome pattern. I might have to keep that one in mind once I gain a bit more skill and confidence.
  5. LOL We used to send newbies at work to ask the boss for an I D 10 T form all the time.
  6. Great job! I really like the idea of cutting puzzles out of pictures like this, I might have to try and make some for the Grandkids!!
  7. Thanks everyone for the warm welcome! I came home tonight to a very nice surprise as the Flying Dutchman blades I had ordered arrived. I can't wait to get out to my saw and get to trying them out, but I wanted to take a moment to thank ya'll for the welcome.
  8. Hello, My name is Josh, I'm 40yrs old from Central Florida and while I'm very new to the Scroll Saw and woodworking in general I'm absolutely addicted to it. My wife thinks I'm going through midlife crisis and she may be right...lol. Upon turning 40 I started doing a bit of reflecting on the state of my life and realized that for the past 10yrs I'd been spending way too much time riding the couch and doing very little of anything productive outside of work. So I decided it was time to find a hobby that would get me up off the couch and doing something productive and hopefully even creative. When I was young I enjoyed helping My Grandfather do woodworking. Now I don't have a lot of room and not a whole lot of cash to burn so I started researching something that I could do with wood that wouldn't break the bank or require a large workspace. I found scrollsawing. It just so happend that my Mother-in-law had an old Ryobi scroll saw sitting in her garage and she said I could have it. So for the past couple of months I've been tirelessly cutting out every free pattern I could get my hands on. When I'm not cutting I'm scouring the internet for patterns, watching tutorials, and reading forums. Wow I didn't intend on writing a book here, sorry! lol. One last note, I just talked the Wife into letting me get a new saw. I'm looking at either the Dewalt 788 or the similar Delta. I look forward to learning all I can from all the wonderfully talented folks here. Thanks for having me!!
