Hi New Scroller from Australia
-
I've had Windows 10 for about 2 weeks now. So far so good. Not as big of a learning curve as 8 or 8.1, that's for sure. Honestly, there's not much difference at all.

Absolutely beautiful! Such a special piece!

I second that motion!! WOW!!!!! Welcome to the Village Muzz!
-
Woo Hoo!! Another lady scroller!! Welcome to the Village! I'm new here myself. Just started scrolling a few months ago. Started out with an ANTIQUE Craftsman that my dad gave me, then recently purchased a slight upgrade to a Harbor freight Scroll Saw, It's alright, but I can see another upgrade in my near future. LOL Love your items! i'm still in the 1/4" door hanger type cutouts, haven't ventured into anything else yet, but plan on doing some cutting after I get over the jetlag from our vacation last week. Looking forward to seeing more of your items!

Welcome!! I'm one of the few female scrollers on the Village and would love to have your wife join us ladies!! Can't wait to see pics!

Have you tried the stencil blanks I suggested? It's much easier to stencil with a flat surface than a raised surface such as wood.

I use mod podge all the time! Have several different finishes. Whenever I'm in question of whether or not to use on certain objects, I refer to this chart. It really helps. But yes, I use the high gloss on wood and it looks AMAZING! https://www.plaidonline.com/eduPDF/FormulaGuide_web.pdf

Hobby Lobby sells DIY stencil packs, You print out onto the stencil paper, then you use either an exacto or burner to cut the stencil out. Then use a stencil adhesive to make it stay in place. Best paint to use for stencils is chalk paint. It's a LOT thicker than acrylic paint and doesn't bleed as much. This is the stencil adhesive I use http://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-%26-Hobbies/Stencils-%26-Craft-Paints/Stenciling/Repositionable-Stencil-Adhesive/p/29923 These are the stencil blanks I use as well - http://www.hobbylobby.com/Crafts-%26-Hobbies/Stencils-%26-Craft-Paints/Stenciling/8%22-x-10%22-Stencil-Blank-Value-Pack/p/27040 Hope that helps!

Hi Phil!! I'm in GA too. paulding county!

I just learned about these and they seem AWESOME. Just wonder if anyone here has used one before. If you have, how do you like it and where's the best, least expensive place to buy one? Thanks!

Hey y'all! I'm Shannon! I am very new to scroll sawing. I just started about 2 weeks ago, while going through the diagnostic process to see if I had breast cancer or not...it was a wonderful way to focus my mind on something other than worrying about my diagnosis. And I soon because very much hooked on creating fun designs. I'm happy to announce that I was found to be cancer FREE, so what a relief...but the scrolling continues! I'm a married mom to 4 amazing kids ages 23, 21, 12 and 5..3 girls and one boy. Life is full of craziness for me and I wouldn't change it for the world! I look forward to getting to know each of you and see everyone's gorgeous work! I'm attaching a few of the things I've cut. They are VERY basic but I'm starting to get more brave.
