  1. Yes, thanks. I was just trying to exhaust all avenues first. I really wanted those patterns. Guess I'll call them though.
  2. Latest update. I heard back from Helmuth, he said that was not his website so he wouldn't be able to help. Apparently Don just sold some of his patterns on oldcrow. So, sadly, looks like I'm dead in the water again. Worth trying the lead though.
  3. Thank you Scrappile, I have written him and will let you guys know how it goes. You guys are the best!
  4. To update, still have not received patterns or any response from my email. I'm thinking that although the site is still active, it is not maintained. May want to consider taking it off the list. Thank you all for your responses.
  5. Thanks for the responses, it's been a couple of days so maybe he'll be able to send them when he gets a connection. It's not in my spam, I checked. Really want the Old House pattern, sigh.
  6. Does anyone have any information about them? I think it's DonR. I placed an order and paid for 2 designs but haven't received them. I also emailed them but haven't heard back. Is this legit? Have I just lost the $$? Thanks for any info.
  7. Hi Denny, yes, the land of 75 degrees one day and ice and snow the next.
  8. Thanks for the comments and suggestions. I thought I probably couldn't do it that way, so, I will take the suggestions of applying the adhesive and flocking to only certain areas (around the sides, etc.). This is what I'm working on now, but plan to do a large cross next and want to do the flocking for the back of it as well.
  9. Does anyone know if you can successfully glue a piece to another piece that has been flocked? I'm doing a plaque that will have a back board but instead of painting it, I was wondering if I can flock it and then glue the top on. Thanks!
  10. Does anyone have an update on this magazine? I see Steve Good is talking about it again. From looking at the Web site, it looks like most of the patterns are intarsia. Thanks.
  11. Also Jerry, LOVE your clock! Mine isn't nearly as elaborate but hope to get there one day. I'm going to make some of the Wilkens Woodworking patterns which I'm hoping will sell.
  12. Thanks for all the suggestions! Yes, I use Titebond for everything. I also like the square dowel idea. Good, I don't even like predrilling holes to put hangers on things. Nothing like watching a grown woman having a hissy fit when wood splits after hours of working on something!! Glad I asked the experts, thanks again for sharing.
  13. I'm about to start on a new fretwork clock that doesn't use tabs to put it together (like the others I've done). The instructions say to glue it, but I'm thinking it needs more support than that, so I thought about a rivet gun. I've never used one so before I go out and buy one, thought I'd better get some advice first. If it is a good idea, can someone tell me what to look for when shopping for it? I normally work with 1/4" - 1/2" wood. Thanks! Sharon
  14. I just went through the tutorials too and thought they were very good and to the point. I did my first pattern for a friend and was pretty pleased on how it turned out - until I gave it to her and she said it was too hard to read. Back to the drawing board for me, but they say practice makes perfect!
