  5. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/In_Heaven_There_Is_No_Beer The Polka may have origins in the inscription over the doorway to the dining hall of a German or Austrian Monastery. Though, if you look at copyright listings is says Ralf Siegel copyrighted it in 1959. That's a long way from expiring. another link http://http://www.gutenberg.us/articles/in_heaven_there_is_no_beer
  6. thank you
  7. I had bought something similar many years ago in Germany, flung it on the scanner and went to town. The original had been painted only and the letters were only painted on, too. I used poplar, read oak, and zebrawood. No paint necessary just some mineral oil. Hope you like.
  8. Thank you so much!
  9. Thanks! The magazine is called Feinschnitt kreativ. It appears 4 times a year. I did not see any puzzle patterns. More decorative items. http://www.feinschnitt-kreativ.de

  11. This was designed by an Austrian Artist and the pattern was in a German scroll saw magazine, I just subscribed to.
  12. Thanks guys!
  13. Thanks guys. This was so much fun (except for hotgluing the LED band ). Just to be sure, I did not design this. The designer's name is Arnold Schoger.
  14. Put a light in the window for your beloved biker. (It's not quite assembled just leaning up.)
  15. Thanks, I will give it a whirl and look at the info from you @Larry.
  16. Hi guys, here is something I cannot wrap my brain around for some reason. As a practice cut, I had wanted to make a keychain with my daughter's name as in inlay. But it did not work out. So I think my process/thinking logic is off. So which direction do I cut when (clockwise, counter-clockwise)? Here I did both, which obviously was wrong. My hope in the long run is to make cutting boards with name inlays for my grandchildren. I would very much appreciate advice from the experienced hands in the forum.
  17. Thank you and Merry Christmas!
  18. Thanks guys.
  19. Thanks guys!
  20. I made the first batch from an old board (used to be part of a shelf) that my hubby had laying around the shop. I smelled very nice - so maybe it was Cedar? But two pieces broke out of blue along the grain. The Osvaldo on the last inch of the outside cutting, smack through the O, all the way through. The Madelyn piece broke off the "l" while sanding and then I accidentally dropped it and the top of the "e" came off. Again right along the grain of the wood. No idea why this happened. The Brandon, I cut diagonally to the grain. It was fine. Ended up using Oak for William.
