  1. Are fonts copyrighted? How do I know if it is? I know some are from previous design work I've done you have to buy a commercial license for a given font. But I only know that because of the site I bought it from. What about things like Times that come on the computer? Can I alter a font and sell it as mine without infringing on said copyright? What if I'm giving it away? I'm starting a new website for patterns and I want to include a handful of scroll friendly fonts that are based off common fonts. An example being taking something like Arial and creating a version where you don't have to worry about the inside part of the "A" or "O" it stays connected. And making a font file you can download and add to you font book.
  2. holy moly. My boxes from them alway end up in rough shape by the time I get them, but that's ridiculous! Glad it was only 3 boards and the Ocooch is going to help you out. They're my favorite wood place.
  3. Hey EarltheScroller what do you think? I used the Happy Humanist logo for the people.
  4. Oh my I love the A with DNA tattoo, I've never seen that design before. Totally going on my "to cut" list!
  5. Hmm... I only have about 10 photos in my album.. But you can check out my stuff here too
  6. Thanks for the welcome and your service as well. I was Army, Military Police. Would have stayed if I hadn't been wounded.
  7. Very nice!
  8. That is absolutely stunning work! Wow!
  9. Awesome pieces. That is a great game. My grandparents taught us to play years ago. Hmmm, now I'm going to have to see if my mom still has it..
  10. I have a 16" Porter Cable now and dreams of someday upgrading to an Excalibur... And thank you! adding the resin has given so many fun options in new creations. The necklaces are actually scraps from other projects. Great whe to reuse and reduce shop waste.
  11. Oh my! I love this little guy soooo much!! Awesome job.
  12. Table sander is the best "cheater" tool I've bought! I use it to help square up cuts and clean up round and oval items all the time.
  13. I've been scrolling since last Christmas, my husband got me a saw to simplify a craft gift I was making and that was all she wrote! I'm a disabled Iraq war vet and stay at home wife so I've got lots of time to play. I do everything from art to jewelry on my saw. I also throw epoxy resin into the mix for some cool finished projects. Lately I've started really loving making patterns, I'll have to get some uploaded here soon. I've been bouncing in and out of here since last Christmas and realized it was past time to introduce myself. Edit to add: Here's my album.
  14. Glad you asked this, I've been wondering the same thing myself lately! I am just getting into pattern making (and building a website to share them from) and I am planning on doing many of those less seen ideas. I want to have a "religion" section that includes atheist/Humanist, Buddhist, Muslim, Christian, and whatever else I find fascinating and fun (it needs a different name still working on that - maybe the suggestion of "Cultural"?). There is a couple artist out there with beautiful multi section plaques with bible verses on them. I love the look but, well... bible verses just don't fit in my house... I want to do a similar idea with verses from other religions or quotes from Carl Sagan and the likes. Along the same lines I also have several F*** Cancer type items in both censored and uncensored versions. I rarely see anything uncensored language wise and sometimes I want it that way (and have customers that do too). Anyhoo, I hear ya and I'm working on it! And great job on the Darwin fish, I love it!
