  1. Like others have said, Starting out I just used whatever the big box stores sold. But then after Joining this site and others, doing a little reading, I learned about Mikes Workshop and the Flying Dutchman blades. Absolutely love the Ultra Reverse and the Polar Blades. I use 1 through 7 in the UR and 2/0 through 7 in the Polar. Cutting name plates, pictures, and Intarsia.
  2. Use a slightly bigger dowel than the hole you drilled and taper the end by sanding a bit to fit in the hole like a wedge. Apply some glue and insert.

  4. That is what Lowes is selling in place of the original "Luan". It is their Low Grade underlayment for finished flooring. If I am not mistaken I beleve one side is primed.
