    The 3M 77 is ridiculously super sticky, I personally don't like it at all. Any overspray or areas that you don't use for gluing a pattern is just so sticky it feels messy. I use 3M 45 and it's fine for paper patterns and not nearly as crazy. LOL

    Side note... I use watered down food coloring for my colors (blue and green) and had "accidentally" made a batch of brown last year and that's what I've been using but finally used it up and needed to find a new source since they don't make brown food coloring and what I had mixed up was in an attempt to make purple (don't ask LOL) So, I used RIT dye and what you see above with the Pelican's is my first time using it. Overall I'm happy with it but I think I'll start wiping off the excess as it's coming out a little bit too dark and it's difficult to read the letters. I don't wipe off the excess with the blue and green pieces using the food coloring.

    Last year I had Harvey create the CAROLINA BEACH sea turtle and the KURE BEACH dolphin and they proved to be very popular so I wanted to expand the collection for 2018. I look forward to seeing which ones end up being the most popular. CB and KB are the two beach towns here on our island. The standing pelican does say "BEACH" in the base, I'll need to take better photos for promoting.

    Hey RJ, Apparently there are thousands of existing crests for names. If you google "Fraser crest" the image comes up that Harvey turned into a pattern as just one example. He's not designing or creating crests, he's turning existing ones into patterns. I hope that helps clarify. I'm learning about crests as well.

    Hi All, Harvey mentioned to me that he had been asked to create patterns for a handful of family crests by a friend of his and he sent me a couple of samples of them. I'm pretty clueless about such things, but apparently there are thousands of crests out there for family names and Harvey is wondering if there's a broader market for them so I said I'd mention it out here and hear what anyone has to say.     I 2nd that... Great puzzle book. I sell a ton of these. And that's what started it all for me...     Thanks to my make-shift sales crew for pointing Brian to me. :-) Wooden Teddy Bear has over 600 of Harvey's patterns for $3.99 each plus shipping and I sell them for $3.00 each and email them for free and Harvey gets more per pattern sale from me. The attached is a list of all of Harvey's patterns I have on hand if needed any patterns I don't have on hand, I can get from Harvey. Allow 1 week for delivery for those. P.S.     I used Super 77 once because I was out of the 3M 45 spray I usually use... I did not like the 77 at all, it was insanely sticky/messy. LOL

    I buy 12" wide to match the boards I use... roll it out, stick it, spray it and lay the patterns out. If you don't like the sticky adhesive spray in areas not covered by patterns, you can sprinkle saw dust all over it. :-)

    Interesting idea for sure, but I wonder if the ink would stick to the "plastic".

    Just a quick mention in case others have experienced it, but I "think" that the shelf liner lifts up a little bit in very cold temps. At least I've noticed it happening a little the past 3 weeks with the very cold temps in my garage. I may simply have not made solid contact when I applied it, but I wanted to mention in case others have noticed. Otherwise it sticks great, is easy to peel off when done and leaves no residue. Oh, and it's CHEAP! LOL

    Hey Marg, Here is a link to it if you're able to open it. It's called "shelf liner" here in the US. It's used to line the shelves in your kitchen cabinets.     Very interesting Kevin. I'll have to try slowing down my Hawk to 6"ish" when I get back from this business trip. I'll report back Thursday or Friday.

    Hey Scott, I used a local accountant and small business advisor. He handled it all for $500. I'm sure I could have muddled through the process, but it was easier to let him handle it all and file everything.

    Orangeman puts a sticker on all of his puzzles. He provided an example of one to me that I really need to get around to putting on my own. I do have a warning on my website within each category of puzzle in the item description. And for the choking hazard reason, Woodcraft By Scott is now an LLC as of this past Friday. I just had an idea Kevin... I already put a business card in each shrinkwrapped puzzle package... I may have a batch of business cards made with the warning on the back of the card specifically for the packages versus the cards I hand out. I'll have to ponder that.

    Unusually cold weather here the past few weeks has me far behind where I wanted to be, but today was a good day and got 15 cut. I have to head up to DC on business tomorrow thru Wednesday, so I guess I'll be even further behind...

    LOL, people seem to find their way to free events with alcohol infused gelato. ;-) It was a good turn out considering it's the middle of winter. I just need to sign 10 more businesses to advertise on the map and I'll be happy.

    Ha! Nice to see my topic is still alive and well as I've been focused on the ribbon cutting event for my map business. Pictures of the event from last night. Yes, I used some of my puzzles as decoration. LOL Keep the "discussion" going.

    Hey Len, this video/test had nothing to do with blade angle, I was looking to see if there was front to back movement when the saw was running based on the arm configuration of the saws.

    So... although not everyone agrees, many agree the Hawk cuts less aggressively (slower) than a DeWalt. I wondered if there was some front to back blade action/movement that might explain it so I shot this quick video and the results are the exact opposite of what I expected. I thought I'd see more front to back movement with the DeWalt. Again, just something I did out of curiosity. If you click the GEARS button in the lower right corner and slow the speed down to .25 you can see it even better. And of course in full screen mode.
