  1. I'll give it a try again. Hopefully I can make the deadline.
  2. I designed this last year. Haven't had much time for pattern design lately. It hasn't been cut yet but my youngest daughter who thinks Halloween should be 24/7/365 has a long "want" list of patterns.
  3. Hubby built one for me to roll up to my easy chair. The only problem is that it's almost too heavy for me to move. (Wheels on the back legs)
  4. Congrats to Holly! I love watching cricket. I don't quite understand everything about it, but it's fun to watch.
  5. I designed the one that no one knew what it was and it took a gallon of toner. (Will have to consider ink usage in future patterns, if any) For those of you that did not know what it was (practically everyone) It was a Graboid and the Perfection Valley water tower from the movie "Tremors." Congrats to Paul on a very cute design.
  6. Thanks. I didn't notice that the link didn't go to the misc. pattern page.
  7. This one? Very last pattern on page http://www.woodenvisions.com/DataCatalog/CAT_Index.htm
  8. I got a portable table saw
  9. 2
  10. I thought about making that, but couldn't afford the wood. lol
  11. Amazon and joann's websites say they have :stiffened" felt. Hope that helps. Good luck.
  12. I tried out my husband's jig saw this morning. (about froze to death and I'm pretty sure some of my neighbors hate me now, it was about 5:45) It was fairly easy to use and light enough. I'd certainly need to use a saw guide because, as with most hand power tools, I can't see the sight line unless I use them about 2 feet off the ground. (The curse of the vertically challenged) Thanks for all the suggestions.
  13. I'll have to look into this one also. My main concern is the weight of most regular circular saws. Since this one is 5" it may be lighter. Thanks.
  14. I didn't think about a jigsaw. I'll have to look into that also. Thank you for the suggestion. All the circular sawing is done outside. The only saws used inside are my scroll saw and my daughters hand saw.
  15. I would love to have a table saw, but since my work area is a 4'x5' area of my dining room it's just not practical. It would be used mainly to cut down bigger stock for the scroll saw. Occasionally my daughter and I will make a small table or shelf cubes out of 1x's. I have a 19v circular saw, but I find it too awkward to use.
  16. My husband wants to get me a compact circular saw for Christmas. I can't use a regular circular saw and I guess he's getting tired of cutting wood for me. lol My daughter will cut for me sometimes with her hand saw also. I was wondering if anyone had had any experience with them and if you have what you think of them and which brand do you think is the best? I've looked at a few, read reviews and watched videos and got more confused than ever. So friends, any advice or suggestions? Thanks
  17. No garage here and a pretty small house so half of my dining room is my work area. There really is no convenient way to catch all of the dust flying around. My daughter that's still at home has Aspberger's (Autism) and gets pretty distressed when I run the shop vac. My husband has COPD and the dust bothers him a little so it seems like I spend more time dusting and running the regular vacuum than I do actually sawing.
  18. I agree with Jerry also. About made me cross-eyed looking at it
  19. That's fantastic! I'll have to show that to my husband. That's what he does for a living... or used to, now he forms up before they pour the concrete and the younger ones do the finishing.
  20. Currently 43 and cloudy here with a high of 60. Thunderstorms late tonight into tomorrow. That means hubby will probably be home tomorrow to help (interfere) with some of the deep cleaning in preparation for Thursday. At least it's rain coming and not snow, that's a plus.
  21. Congratulations on your 3rd place win, Donna! Personally I would have given you 2nd, (I don't think there is any way to ever beat Cy lol)
  22. I used blue tape once. It took me forever to peel off all those little tiny pieces afterward. And in my opinion it dulled my blades faster. And it seemed like the was more lift up of the pattern. I may try it again if I'm cutting something that doesn't have a lot of small areas to remove it from, but for now I'll stick with gluing directly to the wood.
  23. I try to use copyright free, royalty free material. That way you can do what ever you want with it.
  24. I put hot dishes on mine all the time. (all 2 of them lol) It has darkened them a bit, but they are fine. I did put a thin cork backing on them to protect my tabletop from heat transfer or scratches. I finished them just like I finish about everything else, BLO and spray sealer.
