  1. Googly eyes are scary.. on anything. lol
  2. Yes, I got my saw about 3 weeks ago. Blade selection here stinks so I'm now saving up to get some smaller blades. (5 is the smallest around here) I did get my first project cut, I just need to put a finish on it. Certainly need some practice on those straight lines. lol All my kids are gone except the youngest. She's 22 and has Aspergers. which hinders some of my cutting. (she doesn't like loud noises so I have to use it when she has her headphones on) I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. I think I just tried to start on an intermediate level instead of a beginner.
  3. Steve Good has one maybe you can take a look at it and get an idea of how it's done. http://scrollsawworkshop.blogspot.com/2008/01/collapsible-basket-pattern-and-video.html
  4. I opted out of the Wen because of the bad reviews at a few places. After having a couple of junk saws that I had to return I bought the Porter Cable. So far, so good. (knock on wood) It has a little bit of a vibration, but I think a mat under it will fix that. There is also the issue with the plastic center plate sitting lower than the top of the saw table. I fixed that with a couple of paper gaskets (made out of a file folder) but it still dips in the middle causing an occasional issue. (wood jumping) All in all I'm pretty pleased with it. Now to get some decent blades....
  5. Hey, Donna! I can't believe Charles doesn't have a pilgrim. There are some very good pattern makers here. (I'm not even close to being that talented) Good luck!
  6. Same here. I haven't even finished my first project yet. I think I thought it was going to be very easy. lol
  7. Cordless drill or my knock-off Dremmel. My drill won't hold my littlest bit so it depends on the size of the area which one I use.
  8. Love the yarn bowls! They have a longer spiral than most so it'll be harder for the yarn to work it's way out.

  10. Baseball, football (college and NFL) and college basketball... no golf. It's nice to let the kids out of school so they (or the teachers) can attend without falling behind or missing something.
  11. The only thing I can find is that the saying is trademarked and not copyrighted. There were a few articles that say they don't like people using it, but that was mainly bigger companies wanting to mass produce. I'd be fine using it for something I've made for myself, but I'd be wary if I were going to sell them. Just my 2 cents worth.
  12. Fantastic! That looks great with the black. It is a great pattern. I put it on my "some day you may be good enough" list along with a few of his other patterns.
  13. Very odd and makes me concerned for the safety of the goats. lol And he was eating grass... right out of the ground! Who knows what was on it....
  14. Second try. I've never worked with clock inserts so I'm not really sure how thick the wood should be. I had it "measured" at 1/4" for the body and 1/2" for the base.
  15. A little late, but here's my idea. No room for an insert inlrss you put it in the center where the hands are.
  16. I love the black one. Reminds me of cast iron.
  17. Those are awesome!
  18. Wow, Congratulations! I hope I make it that long. We celebrated our 26th earlier this month.
  19. Funny...... I would never think of asking such a question in the first place, secondly I would never smack my husband and last of all, stay away from women who lay these kinds of traps lol
  20. i first thought maybe a shorter chair, but then you would have to hold your arms up higher which may cause more pain. An adjustable chair? You could go down when you insert the blade and up while sawing?
  21. The question is are the loose pieces loose enough to get the glue under? If they are I'd go with the titebond and a toothpick or something, if not CA so it can run under. (or use a syringe.)
  22. /great work..... spell check on that first one though.
  23. I thought Steve Good had one, but it's for a cat.
  24. Nice saying, although I found that my daughters were more work than my sons. lol
  25. I would have never thought of using a nebulizer. My husband's gets pretty warm after about 30 minutes. The longest treatment (COPD) he does lasts about that long. They do put out quite a bit of air. An aquarium pump doesn't put out quite as much air, but doesn't overheat. They get warm to the touch, not hot, they are also more quiet.
