  1. Oh my.. that is absolutely gorgeous! Fantastic job!
  2. I don't know how it would work on the second side, there would be nothing there for it to push against unless it does both sides at once.
  3. 125 CSL: There are cheap, self centered people in every walk of life, not just in Atheistism. Looks nice, Frank. That is a good looking piece of wood. Sanding is not my favorite part of woodworking.
  4. I use Aileen's for just about everything. I have a fear of ca/superglue.
  5. That's fantastic! I love it. My dad was a firefighter for over 25 years and I spent a lot of hours hanging out at the station. I've been working on a memorial pattern for him.
  6. i feel your pain. Still waiting for my refund from Sears. It's been over 3 weeks and I keep getting the 3-5 days run around. If you can afford it, go with the better saw.
  7. I like the stain. It makes the black cat look great. The white is too bright.
  8. I think (with my very limited experience) that it needs a backer. Although I will differ from most other opinions and say that you should paint the backer a med. to darker blue and keep the cutting a lighter color. That way it will look like a dusk/night snow scene.
  9. I've never heard of tax on rent either. Of course it could depend on where you live. I guess Florida does have some crazy use tax. Sorry, that just blows my mind that you have to pay tax on renting somewhere to live or work. Hang in there, it will all work out in the end. (knock on wood )
  10. I was going to order some from Ocooch because it seems to be the cheapest. Now I'm wondering if it's any good since it IS so much cheaper.
  11. My daughter stains then burns. If you burn first the stain covers it up giving it less "pop." If you burn after you stain be sure to wear a mask of some sort.
  12. I get a website cannot be found page with links to other similar sites listed. One of them was mikesworkshop.com. I clicked that link and get a page that says mikesworkshop.com unexpectedly terminated connection. I can see why people wouldn't report it. 1. I wouldn't know where or how and 2. with Mike's passing, I'd figure they closed shop.
  13. My husband built me one. It's just 2x4's and plywood. It's very heavy and sturdy. No wheels because I didn't even think about it. It's 24"L x 22"W x 20"H. It's not very tall, but neither am I. lol I still need to either paint or seal it.
  14. I also may as well throw my 1 cent worth in. My brother-in-law is a lawyer and he said basically the same thing Ward said. He did add that altering the pattern will still get you into trouble if they can prove enough points are the same. In order for it to not be considered an infringement, the pattern would have to be altered by a certain percentage. He didn't know exactly what the percentage was, but thought it was like 30-40% overall.
  15. Looks great! You have way more patience than I could ever hope for. I would really go bonkers trying to do do that especially if you'd went with the "trespasses" and "trespass against us." Too many "s"'s.
  16. I live in Junction City. The hardware store carries about 5 different plain blades and 2 pin. They range from 4.99 to 8.99. The first three employees there didn't even know what a scroll saw was... they had to call in the assistant manager. lol I really do need to do some online research.
  17. I never noticed Steve Good's patterns were that way and I have several, it seems backwards to me. The patterns I have with no shading at all I shade them in myself. (photocopy of course) I have a stack of patterns over an inch high and no saw yet. lol
  18. I've found that moving a short distance is a bigger pain than moving a long one. With that plastic hanging there you would for sure need some ventilation of some kind. I'd be afraid that the sawdust would do some damage to a portable ac unit.
  19. I was amazed at the difference in prices on some blades. Most seem to prefer the FD. I could get a dozen FD #3 spirals for around 3.00 a dozen on line (before shipping). My local hardware store carries Olsen and #3 spirals were 8.99 a dozen. I guess it depends on how long they last and is the price reflective of quality or supply and demand. (I know that's probably a drop in the bucket for most people, but around here it's groceries)
  20. Most patterns will have you cut out the black or gray. If the white is supposed to be cut there is usually a notation saying so. The best way to tell is to look at the picture and see if it makes sense on which to cut (i.e. a big chunk of the picture will fall out or it would take out other surrounding detail) I hope that made sense lol
  21. In my very, very limited experience I discovered two things. 1. A flat blade was fantastic for straighter lines and points and when you got a little off course it was easy to correct. 2. With spiral blades the curves and odd shapes were easier, but when things went to hell, they went fast and it was more difficult to correct course without it looking like I'd drank a 30 pack before I started.
  22. No wonder you need to sleep. That's a big bunch of names!
  23. I'm curios too as to what people may come up with to represent their beliefs.
  24. Glad to see you finally got one! Congratulations!
  25. That is amazing! I'm sure your friend will love it.
