  1. Beautiful to look at but I would never be able to do that. Exquisite cutting for sure.
  2. Those are great! You are a talented man. I really like them.
  3. I had no idea what that represented until I googled it. Gues I'm not that familiar with the arts. That being said where did you get the pattern? I like it.
  4. I'm going to do that. Thanks
  5. The only thing I dislike about my Hawk is the table surface. It is cast aluminum and finished by running it through a large drum sander. Nothing wrong with the finish except I use a paste wax on it but does not seem to make much difference. I happened to find a rattle can of Amway Wonder Mist. It is just a silicone spray. The can has followed us for 55 years. Can is a bit rusty but still sprays. A very light spray made all the difference. Just wondering if anyone else uses a similar product.
  6. I had a Dust deputy. I did not like the height of it. Seemed too flimsy and besides I did not have room for it in the shop. I gave it away.
  7. That font has been getting some great use. Your sign looks great!
  8. Clever and makes a statement!
  9. Thank goodness for duct tape. I learned that from the Red and Green show.
  10. Years ago I had steel rule dies made. Such a saw was used to make them. We used steel rule dies for die cutting items like door hangars, boxes and many items. Those were the good old days.
  11. WOW, you have an impressive DC system and the gates are beautiful. I only need three gates so I guess I'll live with what I have. Thanks for a great post.
  12. Beautiful cutting Inar. You pup pattern is right on!
  13. I could do that. The top clamp would be unchanged and my four bottom clamps would have to be adjusted to be in sync with the top clamp. I think I'm not quite ready to do that.
  14. Congratulations on a successful first show of the season.
  15. Those are great. Nice patterns and great cutting.
  16. You've done very well. Looks great!
  17. Ray, I think you nailed it. The screws in the clamps could definitely be adjusted to make micro movements to reduce the movement. It is so minor I think I will not bother.
  18. Duh! What a great and simple idea. If I can get up enough energy and ambition I'll disassemble the gates and cut the edges off. Great suggestion. Thanks.
  19. I belonged for a year and did not renew. It takes a lot of dedicated people with lots of time to make it successful. Competing with the internet is nearly impossible. Travis is doing a remarkable job of providing forum which is interactive and interesting.
  20. Your cuttings are so remarkable!
  21. Every time I see your work I wonder. How does he do that? Would be very cool to be able to watch you work. If you made videos I believe they would be terrific.
  22. This is not exactly a problem for me but more of a curiosity. The saw cuts well but prior to starting the cut I can see my blade moving slightly in a left to right movement. Very slight but enough yo recognizw. I don't have a problem but then I don't do real fret work. Is this unusual for the Hawk? And how do I correct it if it is?
  23. I have three gates on my DC. They are plastic which I got from Woodcraft. They are terrible. The diaphragm is sticky. The do not close completely and jam. One gate does close completely but two do not requiring me to use desperate measures. I' just wondering what others use for gates. There is a tennis court in our back yard and we have a bucket full of tennis balls.
  24. Way too far for me but looks interesting. There has not been a woodworking show in Denver for years. Sad!
  25. Done in 20 years? Seems unbelievable. Hard to imagine something so ornate. London, a place I often wished I could visit. Thank you for the post.
