  1. I'm taking Scrappile's advice. Today I received my saw rails and started making my frame jig for my table saw. The Delrin strips work very smoothly. Tomorrow I'll add the angle strips. The Delrin strip was 48" and had a long curve in it but it worked.
  2. That is gorgeous!
  3. Anyone musically inclined would appreciate it.
  4. You young whipper snappers won't know what that means. I had ordered the Stewmac router base hoping I could use it like a plunge router for drilling patterns. Not exactly one of my brighter moves. No way it will work that way. I became so depressed I swept my huge (112 sq ft) shop and then vacuumed up around my saw. I was so exhausted I had to sit down. While pondering my dilemma I had an epiphany. It came after a lot of soul searching. I realized I had the perfect elements for the perfect drilling machine. This winter I will create it. The base and upper part are perfect. I will just machine longer slide rods and re-bore the top slide with Delrin inserts. I feel so much better now. The Stewmac is beautifully made. It should work out just fine.
  5. Another Neptune/Janevsky pattern. I enlarged it by 25%. 1/4" BB. #1 Pegas MG. 50/50 BLO.
  6. You've done a wonderful job on that. I really like wildlife patterns!

Looks great! Nice pattern and cutting.
  8. Your message is clear. I love it!
  9. Welcome Charles! I would suggest you just jump in as the water's fine but I see you have already done that. Nice to have you here.
  10. Cute little buggers for sure! I like the walnut one.
  11. You're doing great to have your grandson involved. Looks like he's done a great job of painting!
  12. The Dremel router base is NOT designed for drilling. But, it does work well. Not to be argumentative, it is convenient and space saving in a 112 sq ft. I ordered the Sevemac router base because it's cute. Hopefully this ends the discussion. All I originally wanted to do is offer a fix for the Dremel router. Now I have to think of something else to post. Thinking HURTS my brain.
  13. I do know exactly how it will be used, as a drill. As JT earlier said why not just press down on the Dremel itself. Without the knobs on two sides it is a one hand operation. With the Dremel router base two hands are required to make it operate smoothly. That is perhaps the advantage of the Seyco drill.
  14. Great video, great patterns.
  15. Looks great Don as everything you do does!
  16. Cool, cool projects beautifully done.
  17. It's a done deal. I just ordered it. $72.17. Do I need it? No. I don't drink, smoke, have a Corvette, have an affair or anything. My mid life crisis was uneventful so I feel I owe myself the jig. I'll post when it arrives.
  18. Beautiful! Your son deserves no less. Thank him for his service.
  19. If I like it I'm positive she will like it. Probably make you her favorite uncle if you are not already.
  20. Yes John, there are lots of good ways to drill. I have a table top and floor drill. I happen to like the Dremel as it does not take up bench space. My table top drill is in the basement clock shop. Seyco also makes a little drilling unit at quite the price. You mentioned awhile ago, I think, that Stewmac.com sells a router stand for the Dremel. It is very simple and made of brass and steel. Beautiful little device. And only $63! Do I need it? No, but I sure want one and one day I may just break down and buy it. It would look great on the bench. In addition, I appreciate the information you often supply.
  21. They look great!
  22. Although I'm a tee-totaler I think it looks terrific.
  23. Looks great! I also use Lowe's pine quite a bit. BTW, garage walls need to have holes!
  24. Gorgeous work!
  25. Very nice. Portraits are always appreciated. A couple of months ago I cut a pattern of my daughter's in laws. He mother in law had passed away. Last week her father in law came to visit and received the cutting. It was really appreciated. Portraits keep memories alive.
