  1. So, where did you find it?
  2. Your installation looks very professional. Neat and precise!
  3. Good question. Hegner would do well by marking, etching or whatever, the size of the holder. All my machine tools, collets, end mills, taps and others are marked. Whatever nickle or dime it would be offset by customer appreciation and loyalty.
  4. Welcome Robin. You have found a wonderful place to settle down in. Lots of fine folks to meet and friends to make!
  5. Very nice. I hope to see the others.
  6. those zzzzzzzzzzzzzz are bea zzzzzzz uti zzzz ful zzzzzzzz. You exhaust me with all you do zzzzzzzzzzzzz
  7. Be great to see something created that would feature that knot. Really cool.
  8. Hegner or Hawk
  9. What things would change? They are changes I may like and incorporate them. I LOVE making changes when they improve things.
  10. I'd buy a Hegner in a heart beat even though I'd probably make changes on it.
  11. Many thanks. I have enough clamps. Your offer is appreciated!
  12. I had a 16" VS Hawk with those barrel clamps. Never could figure out what the brass barrel was for. The Jet clamps would sure be worth a try.
  13. I think a finely tuned band saw could do that. I, however, will never know as I just sold my band saw.
  14. Hey Ray, I'm German. Didn't speak English till I started school. I change EVERYTHING!
  15. The clamp is 1" long. O originally made it for my 220 Hawk. To make another I would make 3/4" long and 1/2" diameter. The through hole is 1/4-28. I had o find an extended tap to thread the entire piece. That's one reason to make it 3/4". Extended taps are expensive but I found a used one on ebay. The little side hole should be big enough to accept the largest blade you will use. Doing it again I would use a metric tap and order the Hegner knob. That goes in one end and a flat point set screw goes into the other side. Saves making or finding a knob. Also I removed the stupid bolt for tightening the tilting table. Just in the way. I just replaced it with a hex head bolt.
  16. You did a remarkable job!
  17. Such very nice cutting and an even more wonderful quote. Is that a pattern that can be shared?
  18. Stunning is not adequate!
  19. These two tips have been posted here by several others and have worked very well for me. Using an awl, press it into that #68 hole from the back twisting it around a bit to create a funnel effect. Then using a plain old fashioned wood pencil twist the tip of the pencil a bit in the hole. This leaves a bigger visual target to see and the funnel shaped hole is easier to thread. I nearly always use a #68 drill and #2/0 blade. The above has helped my tired old eyes.
  20. Super idea!
  21. I have absolutely no use for a lab jack. Did not know what it was. Looked it up on Amazon. That is a cool little devise. I'd love to have one. No use for it but would so look cool on the workbench. Tough being a tool junkie.
  22. Dan is correct about the drill speed but about the shelf paper, I use Duck removable shelf paper and it never leaves a residue. What brand do you have?
  23. Very nice and clever too!
  24. Nice doggie. I have not cut that particular pattern but have done a few other puzzles. They are fun to cut.
  25. Likewise Frank. Did not get indoor plumbing until after WWII about 1947. The change was good!
